* DDG 112 was to be the last, but there may be 8-11 more with the "cancellation" of the Zumwalts

* "Modernization technologies will be integrated during new construction of DDG 111 and 112, then retrofitted into DDG Flight I and II ships during in service overhaul periods." I wonder how visual the modernization technologies will be on these, such as the notable variations in the later DDGs.

If so, are there any other names that are to be regarded as "traditional" ?

USS ENGLAND would be a good name - especially since (was it Nimitz?) who said "There will always be an ENGLAND in United States Navy." (at present there is not).

I was about to say USS Fletcher, but after watching this video, I would vote for a USS Monsoor. Not that it means anything since I am a Spaniard and not an American, but just my 2c.

CDR Evans had served aboard USS ALDEN, an Asiatic Fleet four piper destroyer, and fought in the Battle of the Java Sea. The ship escaped with other USN four pipers to Freemantle via the Bali Strait after the battle, encountering and fighting Japanese destroyers in the Bali Strait.
