Before buying any DVDs, be sure they are proper code for your part of the world and that the TV standard is the same as the one used in your country. In America for example if I buy a British DVD, the code is different so my DVD would not play it, and the TV standard is also different so the TV will not accept it even if the code was correct.
I use an all region all code DVD player with PAL NTSC converter. This allows me here in the USA to play any DVD from anywhere in the world, no problem. A NTSC/PAL converter would be needed by others in the world to play a USA DVD.
These DVD players are not expensive and can be purchased on the internet.
I have alot of DVDs from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden etc. They play perfectly
Oh! Thanks for the tip on the RN DVDs, I will order then today
