Hello there!

I`m looking for good quality DVD`s containing WW2 footage of British Royal Navy. Mediterranean sea and Pacific Ocean 1941-1943?

I`m trying to find images of HMS Valiant from that period...

Thank You,

Mikko Saarela

The best WW2 RN footage can be found on a series of 12 VHS tapes called the Naval Video Time Capsules. These have since been released on 7 DVDs.

The contents of 11 of the 12 VHS tapes are listed here:

http://home.swipnet.se/~w-11578/photos.htm

Of these, HMS Valiant is mentioned in 3 VHS tapes:

PART 3: CLOSE UP FOR ACTION STATIONS
PART 5: TRAGEDY AND TRIUMPH
PART 10: BRITISH PACIFIC/EAST INDIES FLEETS - Phase one

These 3 parts were released on the following DVDs:

http://www.simplyhe.co.uk/Shop/Maritime ... 124095.htm (which contains parts 2 and 3)
http://www.simplyhe.co.uk/Shop/Maritime ... 124096.htm (which contains part 5)
http://www.simplyhe.co.uk/Shop/Maritime ... 123774.htm (which contains parts 10, 11 and 12)

Before buying any DVDs, be sure they are proper code for your part of the world and that the TV standard is the same as the one used in your country. In America for example if I buy a British DVD, the code is different so my DVD would not play it, and the TV standard is also different so the TV will not accept it even if the code was correct.
I use an all region all code DVD player with PAL NTSC converter. This allows me here in the USA to play any DVD from anywhere in the world, no problem. A NTSC/PAL converter would be needed by others in the world to play a USA DVD.
These DVD players are not expensive and can be purchased on the internet.
I have alot of DVDs from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden etc. They play perfectly :cool_2:

Oh! Thanks for the tip on the RN DVDs, I will order then today :wave_1: :thumbs_up_1:
