Patrick, Looking forward to seeing your next scratchbuild take shape.

Here's a little inspiration, and my vote:

Windjammer arts has some very nice plans available for Rafaello.

At the moment I reckon I will go for Normandie, however, to avoid the poblems I had with cracking of the hull in my last build I think I will set up the basic hull and wait a couple of months for it to dry out completely............while I'm waiting I'll build the Airfix QM2. Can't say I like the look of that ship ....but I suppose I do need to add a modern barge to my collection ;)

The original Independence seems to have been given a few extra weeks before she get cut up in small pieces.

HELLO! Well now that is a very well done ship.I couldn,t help but notice you build similar to the way a paper model is done. This ,I find is the best way to do "TRAIN SCALED SHIPS".I have been doing them for some time now and I must say that it is nice to have someone out there that sees construction methods as I do. That is a beautiful rendition of that ship. I only wish I had som really good pics of the NORMANDIE, because she,s what I would build next. I also must say you have a clean painting style too.Keep on keeping on. commodore4

Does anyone know if there are still models of the independence for sail? I sailed on that ship in 1967 when it had the sunburst painted on the hull. It was the first ship of my career.

Cabin Class models can build you one. I think you might be able to spot a plastic kit on Ebay occasionally.
