Amazing-crazy-admirable!

It will be some day when the mines, the crane and the ship are all married up!

Hi Ludwig

I recently discovered a portuguese resin manufacturer (RMG resinas) that produce german mines in 1/35, as well as other accessories in that same scale. I know that they have a website, but couldn´t find the address. I´ll look it up for you, if interested.

:cool_2: .

hello all, :wave_1:

have been working on my 'Ankerstuhl' .

Image

a solid block of styrene

Image

the 4 little wheels , diameter 6 mm

Image

the wheels temporarely put in place.

Image

Image

the upper plate , lower and top view.

Image

the plate on top of the anker

Image

anker and mine together , the small disk on the right is were the chain comes , the larger one is detail for under the mine.

Image

reel and supports , this reel is for the so called 'Voreilanker'

Image

Image

Image

the reel complete and placed temporarely on the anker

Image

and with top plate in place

Image

the last 3 photo's are of the whole mine , Ankerstuhl and mine , the figure is a British Navy Sailor in scale 1/35 this is placed for dimentions. In the 1st and last photo , the mine is not placed in this manner , I still have to add some detail on the top plate.I also left out the horns and hook , these were not as I wanted it , I'll have to redo them

enjoy,

Ludwig

Hi Ludwig

One question : Why a solid block of styrene to build the main component ?

:cool_2: .

hello Jose,

A solid block is used because when I make a mould , I put it in my vacuum chamber to suck out all the air ,so now traces of air bubbles . When a hollow part is made the vacuum pump will implode it.regards,

Ludwig

Same problem here, but when I built my 5´mounts, I decided to fill it with plaster of Paris, instead of a solid construction... :thumbs_up_1:

Hello Ludwig

Great job as always :thumbs_up_1:

You can avoid that mould making problem by just simply make (if possible) some small holes on a not visible surface of the part. That would allow the air inside to come out and not damaging the master.

Happy modelling
João

hello all,

@ softsea , I have bought myself a vacuum-chamber , I hope the air bubbles problem will be solved.

I am sorry not to place an up-date earlier , but I had to redo the anker because it was 3 mm to long.

Image

this is how it looks now , 4 grabhandless in place , also 2 lifting hooks on each side , the disk on top is an air valve.

Image

these are all the parts I have made untill now , some more have to be made.

Image

this photo shows all the parts (which I have made allready) in place , sorry for the blurry photo.

Image

Image

with the mine in place.

Image

with navy soldier , this is for dimensions.

Image

Image

the mine on my boat.

this is not the only mine I am making.

Image

this is an EMF mine , same dimensions as EMC , NO horns.

Image

Image

on the anker , which is the same as for EMC mine.

enjoy ,

Ludwig

This is my first time to this website :newbie: and I have to say "Ludwig You are the best I have ever seen!" :good_job: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: I have been building 1/35th scale German armor for a long time and started looking into building a diorama involving a port or harbor scene. I had Googled Torpedoboat, Harbor, Dock, U-Boat and a few other things, but your post came up on most of my searches. I have gotten plans for a type VII-c U-Boat that I want to build, and would give almost anything to get my hands on a set of plans for that very nice Flottentorpedoboot Typ 39 that you have there. If you could inform me on how I would accomplish such a feat I would be most appreciative. :worship_1: :worship_1: Again you are preforming a remarkable job. Keep up the good work!
