My copy arrived today, at lunchtime. I've waited all my life for this book; so I almost asphyxiated when it arrived in my office

Anyway, I managed to pull myself together and carry on with the working day battling publishers over Authors' advances on royalties (Bad Bloomsbury Publishing, Bad BBC Audiobooks, good Hodder & Stoughton, good Penguin). The book is lovely at a glance; almost enough to inspire to make a model, almost......

Hello Terry,

I'm very curious about Dunkerque/Strasbourg section. Is there much more (if any) when compared to Mr. Dumas' Les cuirasses Dunkerque et Strasbourg published by Marines Editions in 1993 and reprinted as triple softback with Richelieu and Jean Bart in 2000s.

Hello Miroslaw; it's a VERY long time since I heard from you! The book has more; much, much more than the Marines Éditions trilogy including totally new illustrations and an in-depth and definitive analysis of Clemenceau, Gascogne and Alsace. I cannot recommend this book enough; so go and buy a copy as soon as you can! :thumbs_up_1:

All very best wishes,

Terry.

Got my copy too. Well worth seeking out.

Cheers,

First off, I love the book - the colour drawings are fantastic; and there is a wealth of information (text and illustrations) to be had. However, my copy has an odd error - there are 3 double pages (i.e. the left page and the right page as you look at the book) that are entirely blank - no page numbers...nuthin'. I don't have the book handy right now, but these pages are all in the last quarter of the book - I believe they are all in the chapter on the completion of Jean Bart. Anyone else have the same issue in their copies?

I ordered my copy. I hope we will live long enough to see also other books devoted to Marine Nationale ships (cruisers and my beloved Contre-Torpilleurs)

Best Regards
