Comment - errrrr um WOW !
Okay I've caught my breath, that's a great looking battleship, the weathering on the hull looks great, and the aircraft outstanding, I honestly like this, the only point I would make, and luckily the bottom of the model is quite flat, I've noticed other good looking subjects that seem, how can I put this, spoilt, is that fair to say ? The original stand doesn't do this fine looking battleship any justice whatsoever, a piece of hard wood mounted on small quarter inch squares, experment a bit, this is just my observation and means nothing else, the work you've carried out on this Yamato is, well, I can only dream of building something this good, the stand - errrr no, even if you used red and black mounts, brass, hard wood, you built this fine ship, take the next step and give it a stand that will show it off, sorry if I've upset you, but you did ask for comments.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind comments and compliments! I really appreciate them!

aleccap, due to limited display space and height limit, many of my ships cannot afford to have any stand. You see, my display case for ship is a wall-based 3 m (9.8') wide, 2.4 m (7.9') high and .45m (18") deep. It has 10 glass storeys (floors) plus a wooden groundfloor. Each storey is about 22cm high. This is an old picture, some ships have moved around but the Enterprise 1:350 is still there, and the Yamato is now one floor above it. And though 22cm height limit allows the Yamato to sit on its own stand, puting it on stand will make the deck above eye-level. So I display it without stand for better view.

I might show an update picture later on, the shelves are much crowdier now. :wave_1:

Ohhhh this is so unfair such a great looking display cabinet 18" shelf you say, if I could, that is what I want, just glass with glass shelf and doors. In fact, that's how I would plan it tall and wide enough to take 2 battleships (1-350) side by side, dust proof glass doors oh well I can dream :cry_3:

aleccap, this wall-based display case doesn't cost much (it costed me about $450 some four years ago). In fact, I have another one identical in dimension to this one at the other side of the building. I don't know how many ships it can hold because ships are in many scales (1:350, 1:200, 1:144). But if you keep 1:35 armors, each display case is able to hold 572 tanks total (each level holds 4 rows of 13 tanks and there're 11 levels : 4x13x11=572). That should be enough for a lifetime of most people but not me.

Bill, thanks so much for your kind compliments! :wave_1:
