On the Takao there was a roll-up canvas screen at the back of the compass bridge. I imagine there would have to be some sort of soft door on the screen. Not a hard water-tight hatch thou.

i can always rip the door off , the other one is not that simple lol i never cut open an entrance.. let me show you something , Gernot also scanned some great plans of a 1/200 scale Nachi and looks to me like some kind of door.. now what kind is it hard to say..

You are making me feel regrets now Dan it was such a pain cutting that little square open i said, to hell with it.. i'll have the tripod attached to the main structure next time you see pictures of it. i don't see why i should wait until the end to do so and i like it because the rigging will be alot easier to work with.

I believe a sokutekiban goes there. That's Japanese term, I don't know what aftermarket people would call it as this piece of fire control equipment is uniquely Japanese and has no western equivalent.

According to the AOTS of the battleship Fuso, SOKUTEKIBAN is a "target-course-and -speed computer" now i got an idea of how it looks i'll have to scratchbuild it though, i don't have anything that resembles that equipment or i could add a binocular ,however thanks to you and Dan i feel more guilty than ever before for omitting that window and i can't bare this anymore

yep thats the one Chuck! but i don't like the idea of paying 20 bucks for one single piece of equipment i'd rather take my chances scratchbuilding it. i got in my inventory a set Hasegawa's optic equipment , unfortunately i'll have to dismember some to end up with the one i need hehe but hey i'll be saving myself all that money which i need for paint. thanks though

she was airbrushed and yes, i painted the linoleum deck by hand, thought about using the mask but it was too much of a hustle so i decided to keep it simple i think i did a pretty decent job though.

Great question Chuck the new Myoko class is twice as better!!!!. Aoshima raised the bar on these new kits of the Myoko class they redesigned everything on these kits. i specially like how the bulges were incorporated to the hull and the unmolded cable reels. took these pictures so you can see how well engineered this kit is and how it compares to the basic generic weapons that came with my Maya.. simply mind blowing

finished adding the optic equipment i'm in the process of scratchbuilding the target and speed computer now, i should have it ready by the end of the week then i'll finally be able to glue the hat on hehe

no Chuck according to you the SokutekiBan goes there. I just wanted to show you that Veteran models doesnt have that one but the 12 cm observation and direction controller instead the name of the equipment they got there is wrong!!

Edit: Oh wait nevermind. Mixed up "Controller" with "Computer". The Sokuteki Ban as shown in the Fuso book looks sort of like 2. Type 13 Look-out, doesn't it?
