I am in! My late(ish) entry is going to be DD 1 USS Bainbridge. This is a 1/350 Blue Water Navy kit, resin white metal, and PE. I am building her OOB, waterlined, and in a seabase. I am tanking right along on her and will probably have her completed by closing.

Decals added, wash with oil paint, some weathering done...

Re: Tin Can (DD/DE) Group Build!
Evening gentlemen! I know I've taken a rather long hiatus from this build but I bring good news; progress photos!
Quick re-cap: I'm building a pair of whiff USN Butler-Class Destroyer Escorts from the 1/700 Skywave kit. First one is modified with greater ASW capabilities via a 25' hull plug. The second one is modified with greater AAW capability with an extra 5"/38 single turret at the cost of almost all of its ASW weapons.
On to the photos:
Major parts layed out.

Major parts dry fitted prior to primer.

Major parts are a trip to the paint shop

Had a mishap with the blue painted hull and had to sand some more details and as a result a good chunk of the paint so I hit it with some more primer. Both will be wearing Ms. 22 camo. I'll get started on Haze Gray tomorrow while watching football. Hopefully the paint will be done in the next few days so I can start on assembly. Can't wait to break out the GMM and WEM PE, or can I?
Everyone else's builds look AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We should start a thread that has nothing but the finished photos and descriptions to allow for easy review. Keep comments restricted to this thread (the WIP thread). That's how we keep them organized over on the Whiff board and it works out very well. Just a suggestion.

Re: Tin Can (DD/DE) Group Build!
Shot both of my DEs with Pollyscale Haze Gray 5-H a little bit ago. Think I'm going to have to use the bottle of MM 5-H I have left instead. The MM bottle is the correct "blue-gray" color whereas the PS bottle is a "green gray" closer to a neutral gray. Anyone else notice this? Guess I need to spring for the WEM paints after all. I was going to wait until I used these up seeing as how I have waaaaaaay too many bottles as it is but if they're the wrong color... Any thoughts gents?

Re: Tin Can (DD/DE) Group Build!
I finally had a chance to do more work on my Akikaze. Added vents made from 25mm Evergreeen rod bent to shape, then cut to appropriate size. I took off the LionRoar photoetch hose reels, and replaced them with the new Skywave replacements. They look fantastic. The new Skywave relacement sets are a major improvement of there earlier works.

Re: Tin Can (DD/DE) Group Build!
Its cold, it's raining and I'm in Amsterdam again. Time for a progress report. I have started building up the band stands for the guns as well as the capstan platform using Nico and GMM parts. Anchors added, cable holder fashioned from a loose piece of resin. Now I only have to add the prop guards, the props themselves and the rudder and then it's off to the paint shop for priming. The other small parts and railings will be added once all of this has been painted. The hull is currently mounted on a piece of brass in a third hand so I won't damage any fragile parts when handling it.

Wow! Nice builds everyone! I like all of them. Being a 1/700 freak I especially like Bob's IJN destroyer! I can't wait to see it done!
