There is a nice diagram of the "Lightweight" antenna for the AN/SPQ-9B over at GlobalSecurity.org. It looks a bit like two AN/SPY-1D antenna back to back. The Bravo can operate its gunfire support and AAW modes at the same time. X-band pulse doppler track while scan. On Aegis ships is connected directly to the Aegis combat system. Very high resolution and filtering software to see through the clutter from choppy seas. Nice.

Looks like someone was right about a possible aft mast configuration to support the SPS-48G. That someone was me. :heh:

I can't wait to build the DDH-963 and DDG-963s later this year! Whew, it's going to be so much FUN!!!

That pic looks very similar 2 a Kidd class aft mast arrangement [as seen below on USS Scott] except without the platform for the SPG-51

Cheers Bruce :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Which page are you clicking the link from? I've tried both the main gallery index and the What's New index links, and both work fine for me.

Strange. I don't see anything different about the page - yes, the text is lengthy, but that shouldn't affect anything.

Here's the direct link to the page - does it work? http://www.modelshipgallery.com/gallery ... index.html

The only thing I can think of that would lead to lag when typing is if your computer is maxing out its RAM and/or CPU. Have you noticed your computer getting louder (from the fan or the harddrive)?

David,

Congrats on being a "First Submission". Funny, I can open it just fine. What will we be treated to next?

Thanks a whole lot, Bill! I think it will be a toss up between a DDH and a modern CGN-42 that a friend has been helping me with  Both are hot ships. I would like to finish fabricating the CGN-42 structure and get the lose pieces together before painting. I have been cutting the internal frame for the sides to glue to this week. This weekend I will be able to get some work done on her, hopefully a lot!

Ok, that was the key. If your Internet Exploder version is 8 (or below? can't check; don't have a computer with a version older than that) then the page won't open. Upgrade to IE 9 or, better yet, use Google Chrome or Firefox =P

Will try to see why this is happening to that page only.

Timmy,

I have IE8, also. Odd, though, that every other link opens. Must be something different about Dave's article that IE8 can't handle. Thanks for checking.

It's Dragon’s fault.
