@Nicolas, thank you for your very kind comment. Like my close friends Dirk Mennigke and Frank Spahr I�ll try to tell a short story with my displays. I�m glad that you like it!

Last weekend I applied the first coat in flat white. Today I masked the hull for the first camo pattern in blue. The blue was a mixture of B6 Blue, WA Blue and WA Green.

I also brush the new 21� torpedo tubes for my MTB. More progress next weekend.

Frank, thanx for your kind comment. I'll try to keep it running, but the next steps will be a bit more complicate to mask.

For a few month I have got a testshot from BMKs TID class tug (not released yet, still wait for PE). The model is finished and only need a coat of paint. Because I will show the tug togehter with Montgomery it was time to start painting the tug. I found some nice reference photos in the internet that shows a black hull and orange red upperworks.

I used Vallejo acrylics, orange brown for the upperworks, a mix of light yellow and buff for the stack and black for the hull. Now the model is nearly finished, it lacks paint on the bulwarks inner side, a wash and a little bit dry brush. Some figures and the boat is finished as a part of my HMS Montgomery display.

Hello Gentleman,

now the TID class tug is nearly finished. The tug missed only a small rigg made from streched sprue and/or Caenis fishing line. Untill I finished Montgomery I plan to add the tug to a small display. More soon.

Hello Gentleman,

I start building a hull section as a background for my TID class tug. It should be only a quick and easy build, but the work turned not out as I thought and at the next day I scrapped all the work I have done from the day before on.
After that I did not really feel to start the work again, but I did. This time it worked out very well. Now the hull section is finished but lacks some paintwork. So far I'm happy with the result.

There was only small progress on my last four projects during the last month. I applied some basic paint coats to all the parts of my MTB, Trafalger Class sub and Harbour Tug diorama.

Before I can also start applying basic paint to the last of the four, my Kilo sub diorama (look at page 2) I have to build some additional details for the floating dry dock.
During the last three days I scratch build vents, control boxes, crane tracks, external tanks, lanterns, scaffolds, gangways and a small hut. In my opinion the diorama now comes out more alive. Finally I plan to build some more details like welding sets, a material store etc. Comments are welcome!

Some more details are finished now. A carriage for L'Arsenals gas bottles, a welding transformer a cross tie and some trestles. I found some wooden boxes in railway scale 1/87, they fit well as storage boxes. I also finished the working platform aft of the boat and added a gangway to reach the boat deck. Well I think all the parts are ready for some paint.

thank you for your interest and your very kind comments!

I applied a first coat of paint to all the diorama parts. I used a blue grey for the dry dock and a blue grey mixed with dark brown and red for the docks ground. To get a first weathering effect I shaded the panels along the panel lines in a darker tone and highlighted the inner panels. I used Vallejo Color and Vallejo Air and mixed the colors until I�m satisfied with the result. The scaffolds are painted red brown and all the small parts in different shades of grey and blue grey.

There are many wonderful ideas that I might have to pinch off you, the harbour wall in stone is just one (cheeky I can only agree) sadly I'll have to drop these down to 1-700, being somewhat stuck and being bothered to build again, you have given me a lot of thought.

During the last week I spent some time working on additional parts for the quayside for my Trafalger class sub diorama. I build some new parts including a small jetty with gangways. I used styrene, Tom�s Modelwork US Carrier Catwalks and L�Arsenal�s PE grid. May you note the stippled wall paint on the base plate follwing Franks Spahrs method of making water. Now the base should be ready for the first coat of �water color�
