Hello!
I want to show as I do models in 1/700. The model becomes from firm Kombrig set «British Harbor Set, 1890-1918».
I don't know English language and I use the electronic translator.
On model has removed all fine details, has corrected the form of superstructures, has corrected case contours in a forage.

Thank you Bob, thank you Jim!
Jim!
I always follow with interest your work!

Painted model. Did the waterline and round windows. It remains to cover all the matte varnish.

Looks like white sprue to me....? good idea...!

You can get a similar effect using 2 layers of decal - red/ white

as used on my Vlad Mon ( I used TL decals)

Jim, tell us more about your way.
You use this decal? What is the size of the strips you're using?
Thank you!

Hello Alexey! :wave_1:

I apply first the thinnest white stripe from decal sheet, keeping it wet and using my eye to keep it dead straight.

Once it has dried I apply a thin coat of ENAMEL varnish- to prevent any danger of the water getting through Acrylic varnish when the the red decal strip is applied- but also so as to prevent the white decal moving with the new wet decal being applied.

Once the varnish has set a the red decal stripe is applied over the top of the white- and again it is lined up using eyes only to give an even white line all along.

I have been doing this for years and it works in 1/350 as well

http://www.modelwarships.com/reviews/sh ... index.html

but in 1/700 it would be very hard indeed to get it sharp any other way

your method works well also--but from certain angles the thickness of the line is visible...?

1/700 examples using red and green decal

( I seem to be getting the lines thinner and better!! )

: wave_1:
