Type XXI U-Boat book
As many here may also have a problem with, whenever I get a really cool new book, I frequently develop a desire to build that particular item, whatever it may be. To illustrate, I just recently acquired a copy of the book below on the type XXI German U-boats, and now have developed a passion for wanting to build one. Besides the Revell 1:144 kit (which is not altogether bad), does anyone know of a reasonably priced larger version of this type? What a cool vessel. (Photo from the web.)

Re: Type XXI U-Boat book
If you question is whether there are larger kits of the Type XXI available, perhaps the "Books and Reference Material" section may not be the best one

I understand the implication Tim, and will also post in the calling all ship fan sections, or wherever. However, I will want from time to time to add other books regarding the Type XXI to this thread, as I have a few, and am constantly searching for more.Timmy C wrote:If you question is whether there are larger kits of the Type XXI available, perhaps the "Books and Reference Material" section may not be the best one

For instance, this book by Schiffer is also OK. (Image from the WWW.) Im going through my book stash looking for others; stay tuned.

Thanks for the links fellas. I'm trying to assemble as much as I can on these ships.

I checked out the kit; thanks Jim. A bit pricey for me at this time.

My local HS has the 1:144 Revell kit; I may just go ahead and snatch it for a Christmas gift from me to me.

Re: Type XXI U-Boat book
If I recall correctly, this book also has some cool type XXI stuff, but I'd have to confirm. Photo from the WWW.
