Got to agree with Jim, having tried (and failed) to do the same on a New Jersey kit, I can certainly appreciate the work and dedication that has gone in to this...

As I may (or may not) have mentioned, some of the smaller cuts, along the edge, etc., I'm leaving until I bring the beast home and have better lighting and my optivisor. So, while it frankly looks like sh*t in some photos, I hope the touching up process will improve the look of things later!

Was able to squeeze in some time at lunch this week. I also brought my camera into the office today to take some "real" photos.

The hardest part has been keeping the damn things straight...I have a habit of them starting to "wobble", and then I end up with gaps. A real PITA to fix...

Superb craftsmanship and the patience of a saint.
This Bismarck will be a show stopper when you complete it.

You guys are too kind...and are going to give me a big head. Thanks.

Dan - I wouldn't say this is "all out"...in fact, I didn't even get to work on it today! :heh:

As I mentioned in the WIP thread for the Iwo Jima, life (esp work) have been super busy the last few months. But, I have found a few days where I could close my office door, draw the shade and do some work on the BIsmarck during lunch...

Have you been talkin' to my wife? :heh:

Bob...Ah, no. I won't be doing this again.

I have hit somewhat of a milestone today, as I've finished (other than the obvious touch up and edge work) planking the main and 01 decks.
Still needs trimming and touching up, but the main planking is done

Next step is to work on the second layer of planking by the bow. I also have to paint the smaller superstructure parts before starting to plank those.

Can't believe I've finally covered the entire wood portion of the deck in planking. There were times I doubted I'd ever reach this point...
