since the hermes used to be a catobar carrier but was modified to be a stovl could it be possible to re add the angled deck to allow stobar operations to take place, and if so what kind of planes could operate off her decks

I think you will find the angle deck is still there mate! only the catapults and arrestor gear were removed back when she was 1st converted into a 'commando' carrier (pommy heli carrier with stacks of Royal Marines!) One of my mates is building her in 1/72 in Falklands homecoming condition...ie very rusty :heh: :heh:

Cheers Bruce :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

You'd need to reinstate the chunks cut from the angled del to accommodate the LCMs on Davis.

As for what could operate from the delckif you did? MAYBE Rafale M but the last fast jets she operated would have been Sea Vixens, Buccaneers and Scimitars, not really in the same league........

I don't see why Viraat couldn't operate Fulcrums Loaded weight: 15,300 kg (33,730 lb) after all she operated the Blackburn Buccaneer Loaded weight: 28,000 kg (62,000 lb)

She's probably just worn out and not worth the conversion

I've been told Orange Hobby are going to do her in Falklands fit and 1960's fit. Now that would be Fantastic :)
