Hi All,

Finally we have started Essex Class Aircraft Carriers Detail Up sets.

Yes "Sets" not "Set".

The first set is for from CV-9 to CV-13 with Short Hull and Main title may be CV-10 Yorktown Detail Up Set.
The Second is CV-14 and CV-19 and other Long Hull and main title be CV-14 Ticonderoga Detail Up Set.

Mr. S.H. Park is now digging for these master Plans and many References.
Mr. Tracy White also promised to help these projects.
What I should do is to Design for Blue stained Wooden deck, Flight lines with Dry Transfer, Precut Masking sheets for Big Ship numbers and some Deck decoration with PE parts.

All Bofors and Oerikon will be included as turned scribed brass.
5 Inch also will be turned brass. Others possible can be realized with Turned brass.

And more, the fantstick option will be Resin parts for Bofors and 5inch.

We try this project will be end by the Mid April but some days can be shorter or delayed.

Keep your eyes on this Thread of Topic.
We will post every process if possilbe.

If you have any suggestion or advice, please post and leave message on this thread.

Thank you
Keumho Kim

Will hangar bulkhead detail as well as flight deck overhang support be included in your set? :wave_1:

On a different topic, has Pontos considered doing small conversion sets for the entire class? To start with a close kit and have the appropreate differences in fits avalible would be great. I personally would purchase several. Shoud they include resin AA platforms and island modification pieces.

Sorry at this time, we will show only outboard on hanger shutters.
If sets are sold much, we will consider the hanger inside too as a Plus set.

Thank you
Kim

We will try to realize late Short hull versions and late Long Hull versions.
And within late short or Long range we will input many options for realizing various Carriers.

This set also will include almost FG/FW aircraft decals (Maybe printed by Cartograf)

Thank you
Kim

We may add some parts with Resin for the Hornet based on CV-9 short hull kit.

Thank you
Kim

Now finished 95% of PE design and now in Testing for fitting.
This project may be the largest one until now in Ship Detail set history.

Thank you
Kim

O.K. here is test PE Design.
Exactly twice of 35003f1 Yamato Detail Up set in contents and size.
These are large 4 PE sheets.
These PE Test design have not included Life net baskets, some mast Parts, Aircraft related, Bofos, Oerikon and so on.
So one or one and half large PE sheet will be added on the Final retail product.

And here is Deck related PE.
This deck PE will be included on the Essex class Blue deck.

I or Mr. Park will post some test fitting photos on this thread.

Thank you
Kim

I had a chance to look at their new resin part yesterday.

I can say with confidence that resin part for bofors and dual 5inch gun for Pontos Essex set is the best I've ever seen so far.

It'll be worth waiting.
