Database for Scale Modellers

Hi All,

I am new to the forum, having become a sponsor this week. Thanks to Tim and Sean for allowing me on board.

I have developed a database application for scale modellers (KitBase). The database allows you to record all of your kits and accessories in a structured way, so that you can report on them from multiple perspectives and easily keep track of the kits you want, own, sell and trade. Images and documents can also be attached to kit and accessory records for reference. The database is highly customisable, allowing you to create your own views and columns.

A free trial of KitBase is available without a time limit. Printing and some advanced features are not available until you buy the full version (currently priced at 29.99 USD or 14.99 GBP).

At the moment KitBase only works on Windows (XP, Vista and 7). I am investigating the possibility of a Mac and/or iOS version. Unfortunately, the current version of KitBase is dependent on a couple of Microsoft-specific technologies.

Sorry I can't give you a Mac version right away.

Hi Denis,

The following fields are built in:
- Built (a tick box and an optional date)
- Location (current location, e.g. "closet shelf 3", "display cabinet")
- References - a comments box that supports hyperlinks (for your forum posts)

The 'Built Time' and 'Disposition of Finished Model' fields can be added via the 'Custom Fields' facility (under 'Tools / Custom Fields').

What kind of data are you going to enter into 'Disposition of Finished Model' ?
