Hi all, long time lurker with his first post.
Let me first thank you all for the many ideas and hints I pulled from this board
On to my question. So far I am in only a theorizing state of planning, but I am thinking of building an 1/350 Admiral Scheer from Trumpeter's Graf Spee.
One of the main differences between the stock Spee and an Operation Rsselsprung Admiral Scheer would be the atlantic stem on the Scheer.
I have no idea if it was possible to rebuild the bow for a correct shape. Has anybody ever done anything like this or has any idea if such a rebuild would be possible at all?
Kind regards,
Lothar

Re: How to rebuild a bow?
RNFanDan had sent me a 'how to' email a while ago which was highly ueful (until my two year old got a hold of the hull!) and I will see if I still have it. Unless Dan sees this and shares himself; it is better to learn from the master than his pupil...

If you find this e-mail I'd be happy if you could forward it to me. I'll send you a PM with my mail adress, just in case.Tim wrote:RNFanDan had sent me a 'how to' email a while ago which was highly ueful (until my two year old got a hold of the hull!) and I will see if I still have it. already seen - already bookmarked.
I am impressed that such a rebuild can be successfully done. Although I am not confident that it could be me to succeed.

Re: How to rebuild a bow?
Here's another rebuild. in this case, two separate steps using (1) 5-minute epoxy and (2) CA with talcum powder as a filler. In this case, I was trying to go from a curved prow to a straight line.LoHo wrote:Hi all, long time lurker with his first post.
