I guess I should have been more world-centric and said most people in the US have access to them. I am unsure if there is a European equivalent.

Well, to protect copyrights, I'll print myself those plans and make them available full color ready to ship, so paper size is no more a factor, it'll be A4.
Besides, colorimetry using Adobe PDF won't be a factor any more as I'll print directly from Coreldraw.
Sorry guys, but piracy matters made me change my mind, I won't make it downloadable.

Unfortunately I was unable to find and clear pictures of the area between EL2 and EL 3 from that period. I can tell you the structures on either side of the Afterbrow double hatch are the elevator shafts for the ordinance elevators that emerge on the flight deck next to the island. The sliding doors allow Hangar access. Those Blue doors were not blue in the 80's and early 90's, as blue ment officers, and that was the enlisted brow. Now the double doors between EL1 and EL 2 were and are still blue, but that is the quarterdeck.
The other area of question I have is above the Jet Engine shop. You show a raised up deck on the right (port) side and a lower deck to stbd. Rob, in what he showed in the CASF thread, shows this as well for an earlier period. That was a flat floor in the 80's and at least until the end of 1992 when I left. There is a picture in the Detail and Scale book in the hangar section that show this. Looks to me that this whole area has now been plated in for additonal spaces now. Normally this area was packed with big green shipping barrels that held spare engines. Also the Detail and Scale pictures were shot in Norfolk in July 1990, which is why the hangar looks so bare. Everything was being stripped out prior to re-fueling. Tons of stuff went cross pier to the Lincoln, the rest to a wearhouse. A carrier accumulates a lot of crap in 30 years, and it was like Raiders of the lost ark in there.
I must say, though, these drawing are really looking great and I would love some too

The only pics and drawings I had of the JES were post 84 refit. If it was flat before that I didn't really have any way of knowing. But I can definitely say it was stepped after her 84 refit. Unfortunately I modeled her in her 69 fit so there is correction number one on the Dragon kit.

Another question for you, experts : on JES front, my 2011 pics show only 3 small sliding doors and a larger one offcentered. On your CAD drawings, there are 4 small sliding doors. Anyone knows when the change occured cause this area has been rarely photographed ?rtwpsom2 wrote:The only pics and drawings I had of the JES were post 84 refit. Rob's CAD drawings are correct on the JES doors for at least through the end of 1992 when I got off the ship. From a recent photo I found on Navy.mil the mezzanine was filled in for additional rooms at some point after 1992, but I can't say when. I can say the mezzanine remained flat through 1992, and the Hangar overhead retained its accoustical panels and old non-floresent lighting through 1992 as well. So either at the END of the last refueling or in some subseqent overhaul the the aft end of the hangar and the overhead underwent a lot of changes, but not before 1992. My office in 1991 was in the JES as it was an avaliblle space on the ship no work was being done on and the Accomdation Barge offices were full.

I was just wondering if you are still planning on offering the plans for hanger deck in scale to the public? I am considering making a resin model kit for the Enterprise Hanger Deck, and wanted to check with you about using your designs. As your designs are the best as far as detail that I have found?

Yes, still planning to make them available for sale once they'll be fully completed, which won't be the case before at least a year, I don't have spare time left for them anymore. It'll be a fully printed onscale plan. PM me if you consider a cooperating agreement.legolas_602 wrote:I was just wondering if you are still planning on offering the plans for hanger deck in scale to the public? Interesting idea you have hear that will be a great addition to the modern Aircraft Carrier. I'll be interested in a set when it becomes available.

Hi Patrice,
I'm also astounded by your work and would love to get a copy of your decals for the hangar deck and CVW-1 2006.
