Dave,
I just wanted to say. I love your work that you share with us here. I just wish I had the room and skill to build such large scale ships like you and the rest of the guys here. Thank you so much for dedicating time to share your talent.
Regards,
Mark Schroeder

hello Mark thank you for your kind comments . Work on the Soobraziltelnyy will commence soon . I have somewhere on this board a kashtan build close in weapons system which is applicable to the Steregshchiy and was an interesting build project . Once again thanks for your interest.

Master Wooley, it's time to check out the Stereguchiy topic at Airbase again. Some nice pictures were posted recently.
Stereguchiy herself is coming to Belgium soon, but I won't make it I'm afraid

Hi Roel good to hear from you . Thanks for the info very useful indeed . There are these little differences between each ship in the class , as they say you really can't have enough photos .

Nice, but we're still waiting for you to finish that Krivak, or at least show us the result of that
Just kidding though, I hope you share your progress/build on this board as well.
Dave, check out the above link I gave again, a very nice top-starboard bow picture was posted recently. It's a pretty brilliant shot, allthough it's of Stereguchiy and not of Boikiy. Some onboard shots were posted as well. Hope to see you building very soon!

Hi Roel thanks for your support and encouragement. Like many ships of the same class differences can be few or many, significant or small . Yet these differences are the mark of the vessel being built . For example Soorraziltelnyy has a number of significant differences to Steregushchiy including changes to the EW fits . Another example shows Boiikiy having extensions fitted to the bridge? additions that make model making both fun yet at the same time frustrating.

Master Wooley,
I found something for you. 210 Pics of the Boikiy, mostly close-ups of different equipment!

Now I think you are ready to get started

So far there are already 4 under construction down under in OZ.
It's become a good boat for our club being an interesting build and not to large to move around,
unlike my Admiral Kuznetsov and Frunze in my case both being very large projects on there own.

Hello Dave, again I find myself on here another forum! It's not good being on too many forums but there are so many great builds on here it's hard not to join in on this topic Lol, I have just purchased an unfinished Steregushchiy so when I came across you build I was over the moon
your builds are outstanding Dave and I'm looking forward in seeing your progress. There is a massive Russian following here in Task Force 72 and I'm on board now so you'll see me on here a bit if you don't mind.
Hi mick that's great that there is four being built in Australia next time I see you we will have to have a chat as I know you love your Russian ships, I think this maybe in Sydney for the IFR in October. ScottNeptune, They are fantastic pictures.

Hi Scott good to hear from you . I find that the more research I do the more I find . There are some interesting differences on each of the class . Glad to see you have taken the plunge with a Russian vessel , best of luck with the build . If you are building Steregushchiy have you seen my Kashtan build , it may be of help at 1:72nd .

Hi Norberto good to hear from you as always and thank you for your interest . A start on the new project is getting closer as I still have to put my present project to bed . However here is a brief glimpse of that present project taken in in January again in May and lastly in August this year .Although Daring is a stealth warship there is lots of detailed parts that had to be made and added. It is a working model { to sail as a completed model once only scheduled for early November } and initial sea trials where conducted over 2 years ago , yes that long ago but it is a long running build feature in the Model Boats magazine . It's quite surprising just how much detail there is .

The frontage of the hanger Unlike that on Kiev I managed to fit all the helo tie downs into place , a long standing problem solved!

Dave Wooley
thank you all for being so patient.

Looks great, Dave.
Please post photos of her sailing.
All the best
Sandy
P.S. Not sure about what Darings helicopter lights on the rear face of the hangar look like but I used that fluerescent green tape you can buy, cut it in to small strips, and used it for the Guepratte. It looks green in daylight and glows very satisfactorally light green in the dark.

Ahhh! That photo of Daring without her bridge was looking looking at a person with a blank face! Frightening!
She'll make for a phenomenal photo shoot when she's done! Indistinguishable from the real thing, I think!
