I messed up the hull of my 1/700 IJN Kongo and after seeing Kostas's work I thought I could rescue it by making a dynamic sea base for it just like his. I know he uses silicone and cotton but the process escapes me. I emailed Kostas but unfortunately he has yet to respond. So I would like to know if anyone has a web page, a past forum post, and/or if anyone knows the list of steps and materials needed for making those really cool looking ship bases.
Very Respectfully,
-Alex

It is certainly a spectacular method.
Care must be taken when use resins (gloves, masks). These products may be flammable and should be handled in well ventilated location.

Jim Bauman has compiled a number of water base techniques on this same page. You can find Kostas' technique there.

Re: Kostas Katsea's Base Technique (How?)
Gentlemen, I appreciate the assistance and I am glad to receive the information I requested. Bear in mind I did go through proper channels and went through Kostas's blog before starting this thread and I found a forum post regarding Kostas's technique via google but the link was dead. I apologuise for the belated response but I have been busy with school and my new job. I look forward to employing this technique to my Kongo and I will gladly share photos of my progress.
Very respectfully,
-Alex
