Hello all,

Here is a picture of my USS Lexington, CV-2, from Fujimi.

This is my first model in more than 10 years, since I built quite a fleet of model ships- mainly waterline series ships from Tamiya, Hasegawa etc.- during my teenage years. Now in my 30s, I aim to get back into building more again. The whole new range of options for ship kits offered nowadays, especially from Trumpeter etc., has renewed my interest.

Here's are close-ups of the ship from its starboard side.

Another pic of my Fujimi Lexington, from last year. This was the first model I had built in more than a decade, as I said.

I intentionally painted the guns, davits and lifeboats as silver to make them stand out more. This is more of a practice model so thus historical accuracy wasn't a top consideration.

Well, comments anyone? This humble "padewan"/novice is constantly improving and bows to your guidance...

Welcome back to ship modeling, and nice work on the "re-entry" model. It reminds me I've promised myself to rescue the Fujimi Saratoga I butchered during my teen years. Hope this will be the first of many more for you.

Nice and sharp, good Lex! :thumbs_up_1: I am not familiar with the kit, did you mask and paint the deck markings or are they decals?

Vlad,
They're decals.

Everyone,
Thanks to all for your kind comments. I am learning and brushing up a lot by reading a lot of the threads here.

My next project- most probably one of the New Orleans or Cleveland class USN cruiser kits from Trumpeter and Skywave, will be hopefully a step up.
