Calling all Flower-class corvette fans

I've been doing some research on the corvette, in particular HMCS Calgary K231, I'm currently serving on the second ship bearing this name. Although the Revell Flower Class offering is not the same I think it will be a good starting point. After reading the posts on here I've noticed that there are upgrades from GLS. I did a google search and came up empty, does any one have a link to GLS?

I will try to found a way to figure those rivets and will try to post some picture of my work progress, because I am not a expert and limited a bit by a lack of info only 3 books and the net plus the paper model at 1/200 ....I will try to be the much accurate possible for the HMCS Sorel but for sure will need advise

My model is the Mirage 1/350 flower class and or maybe the 1/144 corvette I both few month ago

Anybody know where the signal halyards on an early Flower class, with the mast in front of the bridge,were belayed? Can't see any likely rails or tie-down points in any plans or photos. Thanks.

Am about to resume my build of the Revel "Snowberry", with the addition of the GLS detailing and am at the point
of finishing the ship's boats. My question is what would have been the colour scheme. I assume the outer surface of the
hull would match the ship colour, but what about the internals. Not sure if maybe white or even a dark grey or blue.
Even varnished timber. Cannot find any info. in this regard so any pointers would be much appreciated.

Here is a link to the Miliatary Museums of Alberta. The naval wing of this museum is essentially a flower class corvette museum. I'm quite certain they would know your answer. Try the email for Bruce Connolly first I think...that is if you can't find an easier answer!

Here's a 1941 photo when they were in overall grey - I would (and did) paint the insides the same as the outside.

Does anyone know about how HMCS Sackville's boats are painted inside?

I will be photographing Sackville this week so I will check that out from on board. I doubt if it is evident from the wharf side. There may or may not be a difference between how a whaler would be painted vs a dingy. My existing Sackville photos have a whaler on the starboard side and rafts in the corresponding position on the opposite side.

Thanks for all your replies. I rather get the feeling that, like all the Flowers themselves, they would all have been
painted differently. Unless there is specific knowledge regarding Snowberry herself, then maybe poetic license maybe
the way to go. Please, no brickbats if I get it entirely wrong !!!

I photographed the whaler's inside today. It has brown seats, grey on the inside of the hull except for white from the seat level to the upper edge.

to answering my question. Not sure if "Snowberry" had the same colour scheme, but who will argue

I have uploaded a group of HMCS Sackville photos to Finewaterline.com. Most were taken recently for Finewaterline but other ones are somewhat older including one that was taken before it was restored to its WWII configuration.

Hi all

Mirage 1/350 offerings (main noted differences):

HMS Spiraea (square supported bridge)
HMS Anchusa (square bridge)
HMS Zinnia (round bridge and fitted for mine sweeping)
HMS Pennywort (square bridge fitted for minesweeping )

Anything missed, incorrect terminology? I'm not sure Zinnia has fittings for mine sweeping.

Also, which of the kits is closest to HMCS Sackville?

All of the Mirage kits have the same (mineweeper gear) hull.
