sadly, WEM's web site now states

"Welcome aboard the White Ensign Models website

SADLY WHITE ENSIGN MODELS WILL CLOSE IT'S DOORS ON FRIDAY 28TH NOVEMBER, SO IF YOU NEED ANYTHING, ORDER BEFORE THEN!

We'll try to get as many back-ordered items out before then.

Many, many thanks to all our loyal customers over the years. We'll be sorry to say goodbye!"

I'm going to miss those folks, teriffic customer service and a pleasure to do business with um

Bob

At least it justifies the size of my stash, I pretty well have all the WEM kits I want, PE and Colourcoats - different story.

Sadly, I can confirm it's true.

Short version: too much cash going out, not enough coming in.

Very sad news John. I have used WEM for a lot of my orders, since 2008 I think, and had nothing but exceptional service from you. I wish you and all your team well for the future.

All the best, Ray

Very sad indeed.

Will there be a phoenix rising from the 'WEM ashes' though I wonder? It would be a major loss John to see your talents and those of 'Mad' Peter Hall et al, lost to this community.

Again, all the best for the future,

Steve

Very, very sad news. Big fan of White Ensign's products for many years. Their photo-etch sets were some of the best, IMO - had a perfect amount of replacement/upgrade parts without going overboard, like some of the Far East compainies do (again, IMO). And the paints! I was using WEM paints almost exclusively. Not a fan of acrylics, not sure what I'll do there...

Best of luck John, Caroline and crew - you'll be missed.

Yes, Very Sad. Best wishes to John and Caroline, and all the team.

I note that the WEM home page hasn't yet been updated, but I'd imagine not everything can be done at once.

Hugh, it's at the very bottom of the home page; rather than at the top where one might expect to see it.

Must have fogged up eyes when I looked at the page......yes I was expecting it to be at the top. I hope something good can come of all this.

I loved their products. Their instructions were understandable.
The prices were reasonable given the fine quality they produced.
Let's hope they resurface.

.

Such sad, sad news - I will miss them greatly.

I can remember having a LONG phone call with them (Carol) after they announced their first batch of "PRO" kits about their plans and hopes - I hope they thought that they achieved most of them.

Good luck to Carol, Dave and John (and "Mad Pete") and to their support staff - I wish them all well.
