Both of these were some kinds of the IJN splinter shield.
The rope type was made by brass ropes ( 0.1mm or more thinner ) came from toys moter. Twist two brass ropes together to make string. Here is the demo pictures from my freind's forum

The white canvas bag was made by A+B putty.
1. I used ruler to roll putty lightly, to get a thin and round tube match the scale I need.
2. Before the putty became solid, used the back of thin saw to press around putty to get the tie appearance.
3. Before the putty became solid, the putty canvas bag can easy fit in any kinds of curve and surface.
