Hi model sailors!
Last updates are dealing with the pomp exits using solder wire topped with white glue painted in white, radar sets and antennas on the first two stacks. I do hope to receive the Pontos deck anytime next week and make some progresses! In the meantime stay tuned! Best regards, jean.

The deck has been sanded smooth in order to receive the Pontos'one, I have to align the third antenna mast, she takes shape slowly but surely! Cheers, Jean.

Howdy in Sailor's country! The Pontos deck has finally arrived! It's fixed by now and all the photo etch parts are in place. As I did not like the shade of Blue stain provided by Pontos I gave an overspray of Blue deck 21. Tomorrow it's dry decals time and some more pics of course! See ya! :cool_2: :cool_2:

Howdy!
The Pontos deck was easily put in place, the first two pics show how it looks like without any photo etch or paint. Then came the tedious time of fixing all the photo etch, a couple of blue gray sprays to start building some shadows and some stains, dry decals time , long but fairly easy. Two coats of Future to seal the whole thing and I will do some weathering on the deck before moving on. Those Pontos things are great for sure! Thanks for watching, best regards from France, Jean. :woo_hoo: :woo_hoo:

The flight deck looks very good Jean! Are you planning to put some airplanes on the flight deck? Looking forward for more updates.

Well she is nearly completed apart from the rigging and some smaller detail I have to check. Dragon has done a very fine model of the CVL and the Pontos deck is certainly a plus, but the plastic decks is fine too and once painted will look very realistic. The l'Arsenal set is so so as the photo etch is very fragile, the instructions are poor and there are not enough 20mm to do the whole ship! Unexpected from our beloved Admiral Jacques. nevertheless it has been a very enjoyable project with its share of joy and troubles. Now on to the Air Wing! Many thanks to those who have left a comment during the WIP, what a great forum! Cheers to you all. Jean.

Everyday I spot new details to add, hand rails there arresting cables here, elevator hand rail was a nightmare to place and the six TBM took me hours to do but I advance steadily! Stay tuned! Cheers!

Great looking ship you've built there! Love the addition of the planes, they look sharp.

Many thanks Martin and Brett, it is great to feel your support! The ship is finished, apart from some minor details that I will discover here and there, and a couple of more planes to come. It has been a very enjoyable project and an excellent training before I move to the mighty "Shokaku". New pictures will be on the finished models post. Best regards to you all, Jean.

Hello all! Pics of the finished model, the winter sun gives some shadows but true light brings the ship's colors to life. Best regards, jean;
