I just joined the forum and am glad to find a source for "crowd sourcing" both models and information.
I mainly model railways from around the world in N scale - yes, all three N scales: 1:148 British. 1:150 Asian and 1:160 European and North American - with a special interest in rail/water connections such as ferries, car floats and dockside transfers to ships.
I have a dock scene for which I need a crane. The scene is based on Kyle of Lochalsh in Scotland where there were hydraulic and steam cranes that transferred freight from ships to rail. I've researched as much as I could find on these, but there doesn't seem to be any really good plans or photographs of these, let alone models in any scale close to those mentioned above.
If anyone on the forum can guide me to good sources on these - mode or plans and photos -, I'd mightily appreciate your assistance.

Have you contacted the rail museum in Kyle of Lochalsh?
