More precisely, trumpeter SEEM to have released the same kit number (03708) with two different box top illustrations ?

Is this a first ?

Presumably someone told them the multi-coloured camo version was wrong so they re-did the box top ?

Freetimehobbies has a 1/350 USS Atlanta by DML listed on their website,product number 1039,can't find any further info on it,anyone any ideas.

I don't know how long these Flagman announcements have been out there, but I am VERY interested in a 1/350 Type II and Type IXD2.

HELLER has apparently just re-issued the STRASBOURG battleship at 1/400. It makes the 4 newest French battleships again available, even if the 1/400 is not popular outside Heller.

I looked at their site recently, it seems there is something of a revival: MNF models initally, then perhaps RN and Kreigsmarine, although the Tirpitz, Bismarck, Scharnhorst and the SchwereKreuzer are bit of a crowded market now. My favourites were the Duguay-Trouin and the Duquesne, beautiful ships. The ravitailleur d'escadre 'La Seine' was a particularly good model as well, then the frigates with the various armaments were interesting. All in all, a great range, not equalled by any company.

To my mind, Heller led the way in scope and pricing, but I couldn't get the MNF ships I wanted in UK, so it meant trips to Boulogne and Calais. Tough! i even managed to find a decent shop in Lyon whilst visiting.

I believe the posting by Timmy on page 1 is probably correct. The very low price on Hobby Search suggests the parts will be a mix from the earlier kits. One disappointment will be the use of the reuse of the old triple 6" mounts with the barrels molded in. There is a vague suggestion that there may be a full hull option and also there is mention of an "exercise" loading machine that does not appear in the earlier kits. Let's wait and see.

Yamashita has heretofore produced some IJN upgrade accessories in 1/700 - I suppose this is another case of an aftermarket manufacturer getting into the kit-production side of things.

Yes; by clicking on the vendor name & going to their page, I see what you mean.
Hard to tell from these photos what the quality of the Fubuki kit is like. I'll be curious to get a review/opinion from someone who actually fondles the plastic.
Another good quality kit manufacturer in 1/700th certainly wouldn't hurt.

Yup! And after seeing what they produced with Naiad - we can look forward to some pretty amazing kits!

The Penelope box art looks pretty similar to WEM's....is there a connection???

And I suspect we'll see another Dido or two? After all, in the Naiad kit sprue H is labeled "Dido class" while J is specifically "HMS Naiad".
