Finally Sakawa!
Nagato Leyte Gulf/Reite Coast has been up on Hobby Search for a while; can't recall if I'd seen it in this thread.

Of course, 1/700th; is there another scale?

Tamiya did a Gato class, you are right it is not Balao clas, but some sites call it Gato/Balao.Quaestor wrote:The only current Balao I know of is from Hobbyboss
Unfortunately not yet it seems, wonder why the marketing department decided to release a 4-set like that.Quaestor wrote:Finally Sakawa!Hopefully these four will eventually be sold separately.

According to the artist that does the majority of Trumpeter box arts. We had a discussion on which ship should be released given some of the less famous of the class may not warrant an individual boxing.

From Potchip:
'Whilst I'm on a roll, also incoming from Trumpeter is 1/200 KGV class...
;
That really is not good enough....it should be 1/350 KGV, better still 1/350 Renown!
Try harder next time!

Looks like Fujimi has a bunch of 1/350 "Premium" editions coming out, they will come with a wooden deck sheet, gun barrels, and PE sets.

ryanb - are you sure that "premium" kits will come with a wooden deck?
After auto-translation we have "deck masking seal" - what is it?

News update from Trumpeter (source: from their English site)
After August will see their QE, September will see the USS California BB44 1945!
I am wondering wether this will be just USS Tennessee 1945 with other decals, but still.... great to see all Big 5 post Pearl Harbour complete in 1/700.
If only October 2015 will bring them in 1941 smiley

New Trumpeter BBs
Trumpeter has released the 1945 MARYLAND. The latest Squadron Catalog arrived today and listed the 1945 TENNESSEE as "coming soon." A 1945 CALIFORNIA would be reasonably expected, but I would really like to see the 1941 TENNESSEE and CALIFORNIA sooner rather than later. Since Trumpy already has the hull for them (for the 1941 WEST VIRGINIA), doing the 1941 ships should not be difficult to do.
Of course, the arrival of the 1941 QUEEN ELIZABETH and 1942 BELFAST are eagerly awaited as well.

Re: New Trumpeter BBs
Recently the 1941 California disappeared from Trumpeter's kit list. It had been assigned a kit number and was (may still be) listed for preorder on PF.GaryJinNC wrote:Trumpeter has released the 1945 MARYLAND. Check this out: http://www.hlj.com/product/mfhmk004
And, I put it hear because it says the following; This item is a ship model kit assembled from parts made of resin, white metal, photo-etched metal and possibly other materials.
The other possible materials must be plastic, I hope
