Hi Berend,

Otori set (just 2PE included) is just for one vessel.

I am thinking to release a big pack set for that voice pipes. Maybe 50~60 pcs per set.

For people who build a lot of IJN a few more might be a good idea, also because people can loose more.

Are you planning other ordnance in 1/700 as well?
I've seen Type 91 torpedoes already (from Adlers Nest), but nothing else :( I would like to have the whole air wing well equipped, not just Kates :)
In particular, I am interested in:
-250 kg bombs (for Vals)
-fuel tanks (for Zeros and Wildcats)
-500 and 1000 lbs bombs (for Dauntlesses)
-Mark 13 torpedoes (for Devastators)

Will there be a water gauge decal for IJN as well?

I am in stunned awe of the 1/700 stuff.

I am going to go broke.

I am already broke. I am going to go broker.

Anyone want to buy a kidney?

Oh! And sorry for the double reply.

Would you be interested in producing some resin hulls for some of the US CVL/CVEs that are not produced?

Like the Sangamon-Class or Casablanca-Class CVEs, or Independence Class CVLs that featured in some of actions around Leyte Gulf, or the late War, where Air-Power became The Thing?

As I may have mentioned, I can do 3D modeling (albeit slowly, as I am partially paralyzed on my left side, making operation of a computer frustratingly slow) at a fairly advanced level (and have worked as a sculptor for a long while).

So I would be interested in helping provide more 1/700 (and I suppose 1/350) scale kits for WWII periods. I know how to access fairly detailed blueprints for many ships (although reference drawings can be a pain to gather for the less notorious ships of WWII).

Sangamon-Class is produced by Loose Cannon already and is in stock: http://freetimehobbies.com/1-700-loose- ... h-version/

Casablanca-class too: http://freetimehobbies.com/1-700-loose- ... ay-cve-73/

Dragon has made 1/700 CVL-22 Independence, it looks like it is discontinued, but probably you can find one at secondary market.

Daaaang! Those are expensive for 1/700 scale kits (but they look freaking awesome).

It looks like they might last until September (they have over a dozen of each). I only need a couple of each for Leyte Gulf.

But, thank you much, and I have just saved myself a hundred or so hours of modeling that can now be used for something else.

I hate to derail this thread, but do you know if they have a USS Salt Lake City?

Personally, my wish-list for 1/700 is:
T3/Cimarron-class tanker (Neosho)
Tangier Seaplane Carrier
Pensacola-class, 1942 fit

Basically, most of US Pacific War cruisers/destroyers for 1942. Portland-class, Mahan-class, etc. I got almost everything I wanted, but it was a lot of luck, and I believe a lot of people would like to have them.

I got their T2-class and Patoka (will be built as Tippecanoe), the quality is definitely worth the big buck. You also get a unique photo etch, which in most cases you wouldn't be able to get from generic sets.

The only Pensacola-class produced in 1/700 to my knowledge (without counting Classic Warships kits) were by Midship Models:
1) Pensacola in 1942 fit
2) Salt Lake City in 1943 fit

They were both discontinued long ago. I don't think you might find them in any store, but who knows.

Btw, you should be VERY cautious about years for USN cruisers, as difference between different fits for the same cruiser might be larger than difference between different ships (or even classes!) for the same year/period.

Midship models lineups are now owned by Free Time Hobbies, so you might contact them. Now I know Midship Portland 1942 master was lost, so not sure if it's the case for Pensacola/SLC.

Your best bet is probably monitoring ebay - I've seen somebody was selling SLC just 2 weeks ago - would have definitely bought it if it was 1942 fit. Don't expect to pay less than $80 for smth like a cruiser or bigger though. That being said, I suggest you order those CVs as fast as your money allow. I remember Midship destroyers were 20 in stock on FTH just few months ago, and then - boom - all gone in a week or so.

Hi Aekold

I am considering your suggestions now.

Hi MatthewB

You are so funny. Many CVLs and CVEs have no good 1/700 scale kits. I have a good new for you. S-Model will release a plastic Casablanca class kit very soon. It has very good details and we will release a upgrade kit for it. In fact, our upgrade kit is already done. We are just waiting for S-Model to release that monster.

Other thing which would be VERY nice to have would be a T3 tanker, Cimarron-class (e.g., Neosho). There was a kit by Pit-Road/Waveline, but it's been long discontinued, no plans to relauch it, and it's impossible to get one on secondhand market. I believe many people here would buy one in a heartbeat for their Pearl Harbor/Coral Sea lineups
