OK, thanks for the explanation. Another program that I haven't gotten into (Photoshop), but, a very nice technique for presentation of models!! Good info to know.

I believe that lightroom might be able to do this as well, not sure about elements etc. For the purposes of photos in this forum the super small format, super small focal length setups such as the eye phone may work as well as anything.

The Warships Pictorial book on CB-1 is finally available, but what a buzzkill to find out I have to send a postal money order to get it! This is 2015! I guess I'll be waiting until it arrives at the distributors to get it.

After checking out some on deck photos of Alaska, her 20 mm mounts did have the bulky lead computing sights, and the ammo canisters not mounted when weapons stored.

Anyone know where I might find the photo of the top of the Alaska Stack, taken in reserve, from the extension of the foremast, looking aft. I had this photo somewhere but can't find it currently.

I did find a copy of this on my eye pad. Says Navource at the top and a large LIFE logo in the right lower corner. Wash and NC in the background. Wonder if it is under one of those ships?

I can't remember where I found it, but I don't remember finding it on NavSource. Certainly a great detail photo of the mainmast with its ski pole IFF antennas. Also a nice view of the curved wave guide leading into the SG antenna.

Photos like this, when they can be found, are a real boon to people like us! Again, what I'd give to be able to stand where this photographer stood with just my iPhone...

Thanks! A complete series of revisions as information becomes available. Hopefully will have Steve's book in hand soon. I am sure you experienced much the same in preparation of your excellent drawings. Running around adding scenes and vertical ladders. Never seen such a large ship with so few inclined ladders.

Actually surprised that her crew roster was actually listed as less than a Baltimore Heavy Cruiser. So much of the wartime crew allowance was for light AA. For example Hood was what, about 1400?

Some work today on the aft superstructure. No book yet...

Added some detail including SG radar to the for stack mast. Changed the pipe rail around the searchlights to a short splinter bulkhead, to have top rail added later. Adde a bunch of vent screens, vertical ladders and whatnot. I would guess that the short splinter shield was low to avoid interference with the searchlights. Have to find some 2 rail for a bunch of the superstructure.
