It's looks great. This is most welcome, particularly if it's priced well. Distributors, or online store? Also, do you plan an early war version for the upcoming Tamiya 1/350 Kagero kit?

I'd like to advise you of two corrections, if it's not too late.

1) the supports under the forward torpedo reload bays have openings forward - your part #s 258 & 260. Almost every kit mfg. and PE maker has gotten this wrong up to now.

2) There are no solid splinter shields surrounding the 25mm AA positions. This is another error on the part of all kit and PE mfgs. These positions were surrounded by open 2 bar railings covered with canvas. Sometimes, the lower section was enclosed with mesh rope.

I can supply you with more information if need be.

Best Regards,
Dan Kaplan

Dear Dan Kaplan

Thank you for your advice.

The retail price for Yukikaze has not decided yet.
We are now getting advice for price from our partner and it's going to take roughly 2 weeks.

We are also ready for newly released Tamiya Kagero.
The detail up set for Kagero will be ready as soon as the kit is released.

1. We chose open type after researching the various history picture, Hasegawa and Tamiya kit.
But if it is sure that forward section of support is opened, we can include the optional part for that.

Image

2. We knew that 25mm AA positions was surrounded by open 2 bar railings covered with canvas or mesh rope by the picture of the early stage of war.
But we are not sure those canvas railing were still there at 1945 cause we don't have clear picture.

Image
Judging by the picture of 1947, we still can't be sure those were 2 bar railing cause we can see only 1 bar railing over the pillar not 2 bar railing.

Please send us more clear picture, so we can decide which is right. If you are absolutely right, we will try to include optional part for that after we consulting with our japanese partner.

Thank you
Best Regards,

I think including optional parts is a wonderful idea, and I applaud your willingness to do so. I'm pretty sure that the forward section of support under the torpedo bay is open for all the ships in this class, and I can forward additional information on that if need be.

You make a good point about the height of the railings. The photo evidence for late in the war is a bit lacking. My personal belief is that the railings were removable by row, if need be. Let me look through my references and respond tomorrow.

Best Regards,

Dan

G.K. Choi, when and where would I be able to purchase this Yukikaze set and those cutting mats from the other thread? These look really really good.

I've been wondering how hard would it be to convert the Tamiya Yukikaze to any of the other late war members of the class. There have been other PE sets for this model but this looks to be the best looking one to date.

EXCELLENT! Thank you for incorporating that option.

So, after the new Kagero (T) kit, it's onto the FineMolds 1/350 Fubukis, right? :eyebrows:

Just for anyone else following this thread, I did find the missing two bar railings on Yukikaze, postwar and passed this information onto Infinity Models. What you see in the cropped photo is the somewhat damaged 2 bar railing that surrounds the 25mm position on the starboard side of funnel #2.

With this option, the set is the most accurate offering for the Tamiya kit that I am aware of.

I'm with Dan. Those Fine Mold's Fubukis are nice kits and there are no PE sets for any of the three they released.
