Hello to all. New here but I hope this site is more friendly than the last place I posted this same question. Seems there were a lot of looks but no one took the time to respond.

Right now I am working on getting things together for a USS Indianapolis build, 1/700 scale. After looking at the Tom's PE instruction sheet and the PE itself, it is very difficult to see where to bend that back piece of the antenna. I have searched for good ref photos but it seems every company has different styles or bad drawings. If anyone has a good way of bending, please shed some light on this for me. Brass that measures .003 thick only gives you so many chances before it is ruined.

Thanks

Use the Pontos instructions for their 1/350 sets - the photographs they use should provide a good approximation for the Tom's set, at least.

I can take some pics of mine from my Indy. I just use my optivisor to see, small tweezers, and razor blades for bending my PE (nearly all /1700 stuff). I have only done a couple of radars and the pics in the instructions were quite vague. I just kept looking up pics of other builds and did my best with mine.

Sure, I'd like to see them, since it's the Indy, yes indeed. Thanks for the help.

Indeed, I have discovered that many times it's easier to have a look at the model galleries here to see how some part is actually shaped or installed than to look at any of the directions. There are MANY more pictures of most details on these models than there are of the real thing!
