Re: 1/200 NEW JERSEY
Song, I wonder if I could impose on you to give me some help. I'm building the Trumpeter 1:200 model of the USS Missouri and have run across a small problem. Every single gas cylinder in the kit is all the same size and from all I've been able to determine, acetylene tanks were shorter and fatter than the other others. I noticed that you created your own tanks out of wood. Could you please tell me how you went about making them? I'd love to see some of these 3D printing outfits come out with things like this, but I guess there's not a big market for small accessories like this.
Thanks, Song.

As to gas bottles, these can be easily turned by chucking 1/16" wood dowels in a Dremel Moto Tool and use small files and sandpaper.

Thank you! your comments of gas cylinders.
I checked that in the USS MISSOURI Kagero book. You are right, There is 2 type one is slim and the other is fat.I'll correct that.
Making method , plese refer Tom's one. I think the runner of sprue is good for making cylinders.
Regards; Song.

Hi Song,
Amazing!

It's incredible how detailed your work is. It's a pleasure to follow your build
May I ask, for the water break, did you have to wet the wood to curve it in your mould? And do you soak it in hot or cold water?
Happy modelling!
Cheers,
Phil
