I mean all river ships fans.

I posted about the Danube river ships because I know better. I am not an expert in Volga or Amur river vessels.
Anyone can post here related to any river ship.

Four tugs were built in UK for service on the Euphrates river. They never arrived in Mesopotamia. The tugs were bought in 1912 by a roumanian armator from Braila town.

I bought a set of 1/72 plans for the Austro-Hungarian River Monitor 'Temes' in Vienna. I plan to scratch one in that scale or maybe 1/48 in 2017

Hello, Chris,

Do you want to built S.M.S. TEMES 1904 or S.M.S. TEMES 1917?

Best regards!

Honestly I don't mind too much, but as I usually like to depict an historical event, probably 1914 for the bombardment of Sarajevo

The 1917 S.M.S.TEMES was 1,90 meters longer than 1904 S.M.S.TEMES.
After WWI S.M.S.TEMES was transferred to the roumanian navy. She was renamed ARDEAL.
In 1941 ARDEAL was rebuilt. The two old Skoda 120/35 mm cannons were replaced by three Skoda 120/50 mm; anti-aircraft guns were added.

ALEXANDER I (Александър I) was built as a cargo-passenger paddle steamer, which in peacetime should serve as a yacht, while during war can be converted into transport or minelayer.

Displacement: 350 tonnes

Width: 13 m
Speed: 7 kn
Bldr.: Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée (1883)

At the end of 1914 Alexander I was scrapped because of poor conditions of the machine.

The tug VZRIV (Взрив) was bought by the russian navy in april 1877. She was used during the war against Ottoman Empire (1877-1878). In 1879 VZRIV was sold to Bulgaria.
Displacement: 250 tonnes
Length: 33 m
Beam: 6 m
Draft: 1.2 m
Speed: 8,10 kn
1883 - modernisation
1887 - renamed ASEN (“Асен”)

STEFAN CEL MARE (1867) gunboat and royal yacht

Length: 58 m
Beam: 9,8 m
Draft: 1.1 m
Speed: 8 kn
Bldr.: Mayer of Linz
She was sunk in a collision with the austro-hungaryan steamer D.D.S.G. SZECHENY on march 15, 1867. The accident was judged by a neutral commission and the roumanian captain was found guilty, as his maneuver had been incorrect. The refloating was through the help of D.D.S.G.
STEFAN CEL MARE was taken to Turnu Severin (my home town) for minor repairs and then to Budapest to refit. In august 1868 she was back in service.
Together with gunboats ROMANIA and FULGERUL, STEFAN CEL MARE practiced artillery fire Black Sea.
In 1893 STEFAN CEL MARE was decommissioned due to high consumption of coal and poor maneuverability.
