Resisting the temptation( too laborious to go back to 1/700) but this one looks very tasty and a good project ,pretty sure resin quality should be scary like the Yumematus

Miguel, you might as well get a Trumpeter Dreadnought (it even has the extra turret) and start modifying the hull and superstructure. The plastic surgery required is similar to what Fairy Kikaku makes you do in resin.

To much hassle on the conversion ,better to attack this little one ,different turret layout also turrets are totally different ,is a real nightmare

According to Scalemates EV Model will release in 1/700

Chinese destroyer/cruiser Type 055

Is there any other announcement for a Type 055? Or it is anyway to early, because only the first ship was launched and it would be better to wait for the completed ship?

Will Combrig release HMS Broke, a Faulknor-class destroyer leader, in 1/700?

There are some pictures of a 3D model in the U-Boat Laboratorium website. That would be very cool! :woo_hoo:

EV Model released in 1/700:

Chinese light cruiser Pinghai

The sister ship Ninghai is already available and apparently the differences of the two ships were considered.

Kombrig's 1/350 Dupuy de Lome seems to be released by now, it is on sale at the usual suspects.

Miguel,

Since you have a strong interest in theses Brazilian battleships...

Did you ever consider the 3D-printed version of the Minas Gerais/Sao Paulo available on Shapeways?

In this case even the Fairy Kikaku kit should be better. C.O.B. Constructs and Miniatures designs the models for much smaller scales. The enlarged versions to 1/700 lack detail and the dimensions are not adjusted to the larger scale, i.e. a lot of parts are too thick, e.g. decks and masts (and this lack of adjustment adds also to the costs!). Therefore most of the printed on details have to be removed and replaced by scratch built parts. In case of Fairy Kikaku there is a similar problem with a lack of detail, but it is not necessary to remove so much, because the not sufficiently detailed resin parts can be simply not added.

And one additional comment: C.O.B. Constructs and Miniatures offers for most of its newer models only the "White, Strong & Flexible" quality - which is in my view not acceptable for modelling purposes, because any existing detail is killed by this low quality and all the surfaces require massive filling/sanding to reach acceptable standards.

Very interesting ship! Is the kit based on a CAD model?

It would be great, if it can be also released in 1/700!

Sorry Lars ,not sure in this one, but AFAIK Claudius uses CAD software for his projects and sadly no 1/700 on EVA only 1/350,have some models from EVA ,the first one was very rough(Ugolino Vivaldi) but now all are quite nicer and very enjoyable builds, including the new batch of Ugolinos(much improved versions very different as the first batch)

EVA Models puts out some interesting subjects. I for one would love to get my hands on their Italian armored cruiser SanGiorgio, but it's not an inexpensive kit, and the shipping is killer. Hopefully some US outlets will carry their stuff someday.

That is a fairly old kit Dan ,I got it almost 4 months ago and HLJ is extremely expensive, my advice is 100% HobbyEasy ( sadly now o/s)

https://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/pptmt ... ggklw.html

and Ebay

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SNOWMAN-1-350- ... SwdW9aSyYj

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SNOWMAN-SR-350 ... Swh9hZ8z2f

plus $200 USD cheaper than HLJ

Odd that HLJ would only be stocking it now. Thx for the additional, cheaper sources.
