These may just be short-ranged missiles, but it's a start when it comes to modernization aimed at acquiring more SSMs.

Something to make Chinese PLA-N and CMS (Chinese Coast Guard) think twice about bullying the Philippines:

President Duterte seems to be courting China so these missiles might not be aimed in their direction. Hopefully he will stick to what is in the best interests of the Philippines but he is so unstable that he might be seduced into ceding territory to China.

Both missile systems are short-range Air Defense missiles. Python is an IR-Guided missile and Derby (Spyder) is a radar guided missile.

If you can destroy a ship with a crew of 500+, how many casualties do you need to have "mass destruction"? Anyway, they all start that way ... a small missile leads to bigger missiles... bigger warheads... bigger idiot heads... bigger egos... :destroyer:

We have three with missile system but in the future, magkakaron tayo ng 30 more ships with missile systems so that if we are invaded by another country, we can protect our maritime nation by using our system,”
