Hello all,
I'm about to start working on this kit and have decided to do my own paint job. As I have written before, I really hate painting the PE when it looks so beautiful in the buff. So I have coated it with clear lacquer and in order to make it even more visible and beautiful, I am going to paint the ship black. The hell with the rules and purists. I want to make an awesome looking ship, not another gray floating correctional facility. I just get really bored with your typical cinder block look.
Hope you guys like it as much as I will.
Pics soon!

Interesting - pop-corn, beer and deckchair all ready!

Cheers Jabb

And so it starts...with the most insipid picture ever taken:

This is the waterline color and approximate location. Once masked, I can paint the bottom and top of the hull.

Thanks Jabber.
Just a quick update.
I went with semigloss black. I don't like either flat or gloss for this project. I think the semi looks nice.
Here's an idea of what it's going to look like. Hope you approve.

Hello again,
Just a quick update. I have completed the after structure. Those little search light were a pain. Also, some of the brass parts such as the "directors", have some really tiny parts, and the holes are too small for them so I had to enlarge them a little.
You you like!
