This build is is being scratchbuilt from a Deans hull and although it may look like a kit, it has had many new parts made to bring it up to it's proper 1906 specification.

A new all wood deck has been built

Geez! If it ends up looking half as good as it does right now, it will still be a masterpiece! :thumbs_up_1:

I really admire those of you whjo are able to get those clean, crispy lines on a build.

Cheers.

Pachi.

Looking great indeed! Why the use of Plexiglass, Johan wants to use that for his Campbeltown too! Does it have any real benefits except for being transparent?

Let me explain Timmy. Paul has contacted me by IM as he is on the same server as I am, and he asked me if I could post his builds for him.
Paul works quite long hours as building models is his living. He hasn't got the time it needs to post up a build article, so he is emailing me his reports, so that I can post everything up for him.

So to save having to post under my own account of Victorious, I have opened a new accont under the name of Dreadsty for all Pauls future posting on his builds.

Now that's a great idea, he can proceed and we can follow the progress and method! Ron can do that too in the future and you should start doing that too, so that you can keep working on both of your ships  Now let's find someone who's always here and has the time to post pics and comments, I vote for Kenny and Timmy :wave_1: !

Hi Timmy, its easier for me if someone I am in regular contact with regarding emails and pictures can do this for me as I havn't got time really. Roel, I havn't used Plexiglass, fibreglass, wood and styrene.
Gary, the white metal rudders have a stainless steal shaft moulded in and are quite good for a Deans part for a change!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, this one is going to be special.

Please look out for other posts on builds and products under the name Dreadsty.

Paul...

Euh, so what kind of material are those guns mounted on? It looks glossy, not like the rest of the model... And do you think Plexiglass would be good for Johan's model?

Hi Neptune, they are the Deans styrene vac forms painted in dark primer and strengthened, I do know that the US guys use Plexiglass, but, I don't.
All my ships have marine ply decks, sometimes the bigger they get, they may have ply and styrene superstructures also.

If I can make a guess, I think the deck around the after two turrets isn't in place yet. It appears what you are seeing is the wood underneath, but not the actual material he used to "plank" the rest of the deck. At least that is my best guess after looking at it a few times.

Impressive model- very impressive.

Yes that's true Timmy. I have lot's more time, being retired, so doing a favour for someone is no problem.

Have a look at Pauls latest new hull on the Trading forum
