Not ships but a ship's home!

Ive decided that my all weathered, full hull 1/700 ships in various classes can benefit from a unified display. Hence, I purchased some plywood kits on ebay (the instructions are in Chinese, and they look very generic but decent quality) that allow you to build up some dry docks.

I went for a battleship sized and aircraft carrier sized one. So 2 dry docks, big and very big!

The idea is that one dock (Battleship sized) is built up in full, while the aircraft sized next to it will be build without the "4th wall" which lets the viewer see into the dock, with another ship in the dry dock in background. I make it modular so I can expand it to smaller dry docks as those options are also there.

So here is the first shot of the dock. It is the battleship sized one and so far Ive done the tub yet. Ill prime with Tamiya enamel primer to make sure all weathering doesnt ruin the model.

Prince of Wales Work in Progress is inserted for scale. Should be fun!
