Re: Model Monkey Catalog
Thanks and happy New Year to you, too!
For 1/350 scale North Carolina BB-55 class battleship fans, here is a set of 16"/45 cal. turrets and 6-sided shield Mk.38 main battery fire control directors. The 16" turrets feature open rangefinder hood shutters with rangefinder visible within. This set of turrets has detailing specific to the North Carolina class. A similar set of turrets with detailing specific to South Dakota class battleships is also available. The Mk.38 directors feature an open director captain hatch and airfoil-shaped Mk.13 radar antennas of two different shapes (2 antennas of each shape).

Re: Model Monkey Catalog
And speaking of reconstructed USS Pennsylvania BB-38, for those would like to convert your 1/200 scale Trumpeter USS Arizona BB-39 kit to elder sister USS Pennsylvania as she appeared in 1945, here are forward superstructure parts to help (spread out over two posts).

Re: Model Monkey Catalog
Beautiful work Steve!
Makes me want to go out and buy a 1/200 Arizona and do a conversion just for the rarity of it. Got no space for ships that big though.

Re: Model Monkey Catalog
Thanks so much, Mark and David!
Mark and I have been discussing some future projects. Once some technical issues are overcome, we hope to add 1/144 scale airliner engines to the catalog.

For 1/350 scale Tamiya USS Missouri BB-63 fans, here is a set of 16"/50 cal. turrets properly scaled to fit the Tamiya kits. The 16" turrets feature open rangefinder hood shutters with rangefinder visible within. They are followed by early Cold War-era US Navy life raft racks and a pair of anchors for fast battleships.

Here are 6"/53 cal. turrets for Omaha class light cruisers in 1/350 scale followed by a 1/35 scale Maybach HL230 P30 motor. This was the common motor of several World War Two-era, German heavy fighting vehicles including the Tiger I, King Tiger, Panther, Jagdpanther, Sturmtiger etc.

Re: Model Monkey Catalog
For fans of the classic Revell 1/96 scale USS Constitution "Old Ironsides" kits, here is a set of accurate 32-pounder carronades with skeads (carriages). Note that the carronades aboard Constitution today are actually 1845-pattern "gunnades" which feature a trunnion. Gunnades are not accurate for Constitution's War of 1812 appearance. The models below are true "carronades" which were supported by a post and pin, not a trunnion.
For fans of the classic Revell 1/96 scale USS United States, a set of whopper 42-pounder carronades is available.
The carronade models are followed by a set of 12 lanterns in 1/96 scale. The carronades and lanterns are available in other popular scales.

Re: Model Monkey Catalog
Yorktown class aircraft carrier fans! Here are some closeup photos of the island of USS Hornet CV-8 in 1/350 scale. This model features catwalks omitted for those that prefer to use photo-etch catwalks from other vendors.* Splinter shielding for those catwalks is included. Another version of this design is available with integrated 3D-printed catwalks. Unlike the Trumpeter kit, both models have an accurately shaped pilot house and PriFly.
* No photo-etch is included with this model.

Oh. You knew that.
I should have it in hand in a few days. I will pass along my quality observations. I doubt the claims from 'Guest' but I will look at the part first. From the pics I can't imagine how it might be improved, especially with all those cool and scale scuppers and water drain pipes molded on.
I do have some Shapeways products too and from my experience they are hard to get smooth without removing some of the detail inadvertently.

As a customer of Steve 'Model Monkey' Larsen who has purchased quite a few items recently, I am very happy with his products. They are definitely a big improvement over Shapeways.

Agree with the above, although I'm only a first time customer '1/350 USS Portland conversion set' I'm more than happy compared to the Shapeways printed items I have brought in the past.Jon C Ryckert wrote:As a customer of Steve 'Model Monkey' Larsen who has purchased quite a few items recently, I am very happy with his products.
