glowworm Just a note to say that the IBG catalog is at http://www.ibgmodels.com/IBG_Models_KATALOG.pdf

Among all the tanks you may find that the 1/700 G,H,I class RN destroyers are listed. With as-portrayed dates which we didn't have before. These are my personal most-wanted kits and a couple of them, Garland 1944 and Glowworm 1938 have box art, so maybe not much longer to wait. The six kits have a good representative range of fits.

As far as the chance of Trumpeter scaling down anything goes, it looks like 1/700 is for PLAN modern ships, all the good WW2 stuff is in 1/350. Hope I'm wrong...

IBG's G/H/I destroyers are also a must have esp the Glowworm for me. Their Hunts are pretty good so I will buy them as they come out

Beat me to it, embarked :thumbs_up_1:

But you didn't mention the "secret item" blocks on the 1/700 pages (scroll to pages 21 and following).
I had spoken to Adam at IBG some while back via email and asked what next after the G, H, I destroyers.
He replied that the next would likely be RN but smaller; dare we hope for sloops, corvettes and the like?

Well, Quaestor, I've got Rivers and Flowers in the stash and on the slip, and about ten DEs of various classes, so I need Black Swan sloops and Castle class corvettes. The sloop is the best choice, HMS Starling U66 of course. Trouble is for IBG there is no Polish Navy connection. I wouldn't mind if they completed the British-supplied WW2 ships like Conrad, Piorun or Orkan, or the submarines. Or indeed Blyskawica. However, next time you email Adam ask about a German T-boat.

Apologies for filling the space with speculation rather than actual news.

 I had suggested the ex-RN cruisers and especially "Lightning" to him. While not saying so outright, he seems to feel RN offers the best prospects for sales; with an occasional ORP vessel in the mix too.

Thinking of that other thread asking what would you clear the decks for, Blyskawica would surely do for me.

Did anyone else notice the U-Boat on Trumpeter's facebook page. Looks smaller than even 1:72 scale. Not sure if I would want with an interior though...

I thought that this is a model built from Trumpeter's 1/48 Type VIIC kit.

This is interesting: http://ipmsdeutschland.de/Ausstellungen/Nuernberg2019/Bilder_VH/Aoshima_VH_12.htm

No, not the Exeter or Dorsetshire, but that photo of Norfolk in North Cape fit from Aoshima. Hope it doesn't have the underscale problems of the Dorsetshire.

http://ipmsdeutschland.de/Ausstellungen ... _VH_14.htm shows it better, but it loks like the unfinished example is not different in size. I'll still get one.

Looks like Volker has taken a bunch of Titanic pics too. Some of you must like them.

I'm sorry to say that the hull length scales out to around 1/720.

On the Flyhawk Konigsberg: there's a standard version and a deluxe version with brass barrels and three frets of photoetch.

All the reviews I've seen have been of the deluxe version. Does anyone know: do you get any PE at all with the standard version? I'd like to get some PE, certainly the railings, but I can do without the barrels.

There may be a very tiny PE fret, but certainly NO railings. It's "all or nothing"! I bought the Deluxe kit, used most of the PE, but only the brass main barrels.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know! I'm enjoying working with the PE in my Flyhawk 1916 Lutzow.

I bought a Flyhawk 1:700 Königsberg two days ago. In the box is announced a 1:700 Scharnhorst! Anybody out there knows something about it?

IBG posts pictures of their new releases, including ORP Garland, 1944. Atlantic escort fit, with hedgehog and brass huffduff. Which I am not looking forward to folding.

I just might have got the link wrong to get to Garland directly but look around, it's there.

Box-cover announcements like that are usually a good sign of an imminent release. But then, Flyhawk has made unannounced surprise releases like the PT boat, and MAS torpedo boat, both of which seem to have been in and out of production before anyone knew of them! Luckily, I seem to have gotten maybe the last remaining PT 109 - very nice tiny model, considering it's about 1 1/2 inches long! Hope they release S-Boats soon!
