I'm amazed at the change in hull color between inside and outside pics. What type of lighting were you you using indoors?

Looks like a real "cool", 40K or above, lamp.

The execution on this so much above mine, Im speechless. The way you drew the blue hull line with haze grey, it is perfect and straight. The whole superstructure sings. Do finish it, it really is a looker. I always preferred the North Carolina class to all other US battlwagons, and your works clearly shows why. Superb lines.

Thank you, guys, really appreciate it.

Paul: To be honest, I don't have a clue. It's just a LED table lamp I am using to see better :-), nothing particularly dedicated as a lighting source for making pictures.

A small progress, all the 5'', 1.1'' and Oerlikons in place.

Rigging done. What remains is the Mk 9 spotting glass on a top of the conning tower, the rear Mk 4 radar, anchor chains, railings, flags, OS2U...

The main mast was too low, fixed.

The OS2U bears the standard scheme used in 1942 (M-485 Non-specular Blue Gray + M-485 Non-Specular Light Gray). I have used the Model Master 4847 "US Navy Blue Gray M-485" (it has the proper light green tint in a natural light, matches the real NSBG perfectly) and the Model Master 1730 "Gull Gray (FS 36440 Flat)". The cockpit interior has been painted with the A.MiG 220 (FS34151 Zinc Chromate Green).

After some eighteen months she is basically done. Some minor adjustments will happen yet (the 48-star flag instead of the current one etc.). I'll try to place the appropriate rank flag as well, as it is almost impossible to have this ship not connected with RADM Lee.

What really remains is the crew and the waterbase...

Thank you, thank you very much!

Pavel, told it already and will tell it again - your Washington was a major reason why I started the project. Good job!

Very nicely done. The weathering is especially well done.

Ha, yes I recall but still, this project is on another level, glad you got inspired to do it that well! Whats next I wonder - a realistically converted SoDak? Or shall i build that first also so you can perfect it? :D

Pavel> You almost nailed it! USS Massachusetts (1/1946) in a double project together with USS Pennsylvania (7/1945).
