Mr. Atma, if you know, does the "detail-up super" for Agano (Yahagi) includes the "basic" P.E set parts or not? Do I need to buy both sets for the complete set?

Like all of Hasegawa's other 1/350 detail sets, each set is needed in order to complete the model - the Super Detail-Up set has no overlapping parts with the Basic set; the Basic A set contains mainly just rails, the Basic B contains radar and other such things, while the Super set contains PE parts for the hangar/flight deck structure and brass barrels. See pictures in the links below:

Yes, but seemingly by some details set B corresponds to set D and set A corresponds to set C, don't you think? The cruiser has one funnel, why is there two funnel grills?

Sets B and D :

No! As Timmy said, none overlap.

I think Mermaid is right. Sets A and B are for Yahagi and Noshiro (but not for Agano :!:). Sets C and D only for Agano.
Each ship of the class (Agano, Noshiro, Yahagi) has also her own Super Set.

Photo etched parts for Agano/Noshiro announced. Such name would suggest that separate Yahagi/Sakawa set will be released soon as well.
(But what on earth is light cruiser Musashi?! :heh: )

Hi all
I just acquired the Hasegawa 1/350 Yahagi, and in searching for upgrade sets have found very little aside from the separately available (and expensive) Hasegawa sets and railings and a photoetch fret from Eduard.
That being said, I read somewhere that Very Fire may be working on an upgrade set for Yahagi. This sounds very exciting and was wondering if anyone has more information on this?

I don't recall anything from Veryfire on the Yahagis.

As far as I can tell, the Hasegawa sets are very complete, just pricey.

Be careful if you buy one of the super sets of etch. They have at least two variations - Yahagi and Agano. I think the Yahagi set depicts her as lost, while Agano may be early war. There are noticeable differences between the aircraft platform on each, as well as radar and some smaller details.

Thanks for the reply guys, I really appreciate it. Reading through other threads I found where Very Fire has alluded to forthcoming detail set for Yahagi in 1/350. Here is the link to the USS Salem thread in which I found this mentioned.

I am very interested in this as I would much prefer an all inclusive detail package as opposed to tracking down several detail items. Hopefully they will post more information soon on their progress with this.

All the best

Chad

Interesting. I must have glossed over that little notice.
