Thanks Matt!
I can finally start permanently attaching the small boats to the scene. First up is USS Hoga YT-146. Her story on that day is simply amazing. Of all the tugs in the harbor that day, whenever a photo was taken or film was shot, Hoga always seemed to be the one tug to be in the shot.
Here we can see her taking on USS West Virginia's fires head on. Two fire hoses can be seen putting out fires on West Virginia's boat deck.

Thanks Sean! Just permanently attached YG-17 to the base. In the process of detailing her with crew. One thing that always stood out to me was the amount of water her screw was churning up as the skipper tried to keep her bow up against West Virginia.

Fantastic work on that water spray.

Can't help but notice that great light switch in the sky. Definitely an outtake from Land of the Giants.

LOL! It is a bit of a scene stealer. Isn’t it?

The final two pieces, USS Tern and the Panair seaplane tender have been permanently attached to the sea base. All major work is now complete. All that is left is more figures added, a couple more fire hoses and lots of smoke.

Added a bunch of smoke today. The smoke really adds to the drama of the scene. The thick black smoke from the Arizona fires creates quite a contrast to the lighter gray smoke from the West Virginia. So close to completion now. Still have some minor details and about a hundred more figures to add and that is about it.

That background is just perfect. It adds so much it is hard to put into words.

Thanks guys! My ultimate goal with this diorama was to see if I could replicate this montage of film footage. I think I got pretty close.
