Salem vs. Des Moines

Aren't they both Des Moines class heavy cruisers?
Wondering what the difference between the two kits would be
so I can decide whether to buy the Salem now with the
upcoming PE set or await the release of the Des Moines.

Different time. The Des Miones kit has catapults and a 76.2mm AA gun on the bow, however the Salem kit doesn't. Also some differences on their masts and radars.

Images from the new Trumpeter 20-21 catalogue have no Brooklyn class CL. So perhaps Veryfire can proceed with a Brooklyn of their own.

I will let my colleague to put this project into our plans, but I cannot guarantee there will be a VeryFire Brooklyn kit.

Can you comment on whether the Atlanta or any of her sisters are in your plans?

I'll be buying both the Cleveland and the Des Moines
after their PE sets are completed and available for sale.
Buying ships and then hunting for suitable PE is a joy killer.

I'll be poised like a hawk ready to purchase when the
complete package is available.

Thank you for kitting these. Looking forward to 2020!

Merry Christmas!

Thank you, sir!
Definitely we will release the detail up set for both the Cleveland and the Des Moines in the first half of 2020. The detail up set for our Salem kit is almost finished.
Merry Christmas!

I am a distributor and manufacturer only, so you need to be a EU registered business (VAT number) to register and get access. I can also supply any outside-of-EU shop, too, but need to make an account for that one manually, what is however not a big trouble.
