A nice challenging subject. I love USN amphibious ships and the hassle and bustle of their brood of land craft. An awesome model considering the scale. Will follow your postings through to the model's completion. Do not give up! Best regards from Malta. Noel Paris

Your Burleigh is stunning! It has been a pleasure to follow your progress for the past three months.

What are your secrets for such crisp dazzle camouflage? I use Friskfilm (low tack soft peel masking film) to separate air brushed dazzle colors and black Formaline (charting and graphic art tape) for boot topping, both purchased at an art supply warehouse.

What materials, tools, and techniques do you suggest?

Txs for the complement,
I don consider myself a great painting specialist...trust me ...it wasn't good in one go
sometimes.... no ...often had to re-do line after line...just don give up.
I use Tamiya masking tape...my only advise ...if you don do already ...I secure the maskingtape on the side I'm gonna paint with a few passings with the upper side of my nail to be sure it sticks well....rest...well think how best to do the different layers of color and mainly in what order so avoid maximum tape overlappings/crossings

and...some ... I hand finished corners with a very fine brush

congratulations--I think you have done a really splendid job on your Burleigh model

especially considering its humble and somwhat compromised starting point!!

A good looking model :cool_2:

Bravo!

I'd echo the earlier comment about the paintjob. It is very nicely done, really looks the part. Looking forward to future updates.

had something in mind...wasn't easy..but did it, only 2 cranes will have this doubble pulley...there are 6 lines connecting the 2 ...so 3 each side... more it would be so close together there is no space left between to see its more lines so this will be max

a long time ago ...in this build, I was making a speaker ...failed...made a new one...looked ok...it jumped away...no where to see...I gave up on it
today I dropped a LCVP stand..looked for it..found also the long lost and almost forgotten horn...lovely

both sides are now almost at same level...added all LCVP stands and ships ...keeping 1 LCVP stand on each side open ...like on the pictures I base my Burleigh on
added a few more lines...little by little the cobweb is taking form lol
