I just thought I'd give everyone a sneak peek of the New 2006 edition of Warship from Conway's.

John Jordan was at my naval conference on Saturday and these were handed out

As an avid collector of this series (I have all 27 volumes in H/B) this will surely go on my birthday list in July.

To me the types of articles look better than last years 2005 edition, shame he hasn't put the authors down on this flier but I can guess who some of them might be from:-

My one word advice if you shop around you won't have to pay £30, think I paid £22 or £24 for last years on day of release brand new inc VAT and delivery.

Excellent, something new on the Castle Class Corvettes at last. They have been very poorly researched so far. Definately a volume I will be picking up.

Already ordered. Just curious to see if they had collected something more of what I did about the "flotta d'evasione" RM program... :)

Yes. I bought it because of the articles about the French heavy cruisers of the Suffren class and the Japanese armoured cruiser Chiyoda and I consider it worth buying.

At last been I've waiting since January had it ordered at Waterstones begining of the year.I have every one since it came out, woudn't be with out it. Incidentally for those collecting Combat Fleets I've been informed by Maritime Books that there will not be a 2006-2007 edition they are skipping a year. usually place an advance order but can't afford Jane's at over $700. Whats needed is an up date of Conways All the World Fighting Ships say 1955-2006.

Dave may I ask what were Waterstones charging please? I payed £22 I think the retail on it was £30.

Like you I have every volume of Conway's Warship in H/B all 28 volumes, I think the number is, its a truely superb series of journals. The rarer 2 being Volume 11 and 12 which were never released with dustcovers :heh:

Yes I was aware of this and forgot to say the post-war Castle's are the ones David Brown told me he designed hence his article is on them.

Hi Lozza Yes Warship 2006 at Waterstones is retailing for £30. Still you get what you pay for and it's still an excellent reference work.

Phew! Thanks for the warning, I was about to part with some money for just that article, but I am only interested in the WWII corvettes.

Long hours and masses of paperwork, but I don't mind that, its the pulling things together which gets my back up! :mad_1:
