Who's the Chinese company...Trumpeter/Hobby Boss, or Flyhawk...?
:wave_1:

None of those brand-names.

It's an independent factory that also does work for a well-known brand of model trains, so I can say that the Colossus has a good pedigree

We use three different independent factories in China now for different projects, and have been talking with two others to see if we can expand capacity a bit and spread the work around.
(When I did resin casting and had work done by other casters, I learned two things: not to use a competitor and not to put my eggs in one basket. I learned also that all resin casters are the most unreliable people on the planet, but that's another story   )

One of the latter two makes tooling for Aoshima and some other Japanese brands, but the quotes we've gotten from them have been higher than the others.

Like anywhere else, there are good factories and bad ones, so it's wise to shop around anyway. The factory doing the Colossus kits has a really good tool and die shop. They get some really good detail, the castings are crisp, and in many cases they almost fall off the sprues; they aren't heavy on the sprue gates. And they seem to know when and where to use ejector pins.

Flyhawk Hood postponed again at Hobby Easy! :Tirade: July 15 now....

Has anyone purchased on eBay and had it shipped or actually received it???? Or are the eBay "ship within 30 days of payment" sellers getting themselves into trouble?

IHP's 1/700 British Late War/Postwar aircraft will be available separately to populate your Colossus kits or any other carrier that needs them.

Sets will include two sprues of each aircraft, decals and painting guide, all economically priced at $7.95 per set. They will be available direct from IHP as stocks allow.

NOTE: Sea Fury (#27004) not shown but will also be available.

Next release from Trumpeter

http://www.trumpeter-china.com/index.php?g=home&m=product&a=show&id=3711

I would've have thought that the type 075 amphibious ship would be more likely to get released at this time but that can always get a release in the near future.

IHP's Colossus-class Triumph and Glory kits drop later this month.

This is the next Colossus-class variant scheduled for release in late Summer: HMS Theseus in 1946 fit with Seafires and Fireflies on deck.

And from IHP, to follow Theseus, HMS Vengeance in 1945 fit with Corsairs and Barracudas on deck. More variants to follow.

The painting mask and wooden deck for this model were also listed with a 21/072021 release date, do you know if these items are also now in stock/available for order/shipping?
Kind regards
Roger

With Hood finally on the shelves, does anyone with Facebook, etc., have any credible clues as to what Flyhawk's next kit will be? Either 1/72, or 1/700?

Once you see "add to cart" at Hobby Easy, it's available now. I just checked an they are listed. If you click on either edition of the Flyhawk Hood, the accessories come up on the individual item page, if you're not seeing them generally.

Once someone receives the Hood there might be a picture on the side that gives a tip. I have scanned the internet and I have found nothing.
