@ Mikasa: :jump_1:  My shipyard is totally backed up, and the shipbuilders are on a walkout! My shipbuilding is on a hiatus (to avoid burn-out), and I'm currently working on 1/72 armor, aircraft, and the occasional figure. When I get back to ships I'll have a sizeable stash of quality kits to work on.

Thanks for the info. I’ve just ordered this kit, my first build in 20 years as my return to the hobby.

I know it didn’t operate them, and the lifts are too short, but I’m thinking to add a pair of Fulmars.

IHP's 1/700 Colossus-class TRIUMPH and GLORY kits are shipping now. You can start watching for them at your dealers (or in your mailbox) in August.

Mine shipped today from China to Sweden. Will see how long this takes.... I will share pics if noone else does till then.

I received my De Luxe version today. No surprise, the quality is on par with their top-tier releases. Look at their PoW/KGV, Bismarck etc. and this is what you get in Hood. The same astonishing level of details.

'Nuff said. :-)

Yes, had a few of them at MosquitoCon for a special show price, and did well with them. Triumph without PE is now sold out at IHP. A few Glory kits are left, both with and without PE but the stock is going down each day.

Was there a picture on the side giving a hint of what is next?

Seems like they should do a Prinz Eugen just for completeness sake....

There is an HMS Illustrious (1940); FH1116 pic on the side of the box. However, this kit has been released already.

Mine is in the customs - paid the import fee and awaiting what seems like my cheapest kit in a year. Thanks to buying directly from Chinese seller. Looking forward to see what is in the box...

A couple of shots of a completed sample of the new IHP 1/700 HMS TRIUMPH kit. Built from the box, and it was a lot less complex to build than it looks.

Very pretty ship, with nice crisp detail too. Might have to get myself one at some point; my Royal Navy shelf lacks a carrier...

These ships were smaller than you'd think, so it won't even take up much space on your shelf in 1/700 scale :-)

Flyhawk Hood came to my mail today. It was badly damaged in post so I cant post pics.

Some comments though:

- the lower hull has no plating, upper hull has plating. I dont get why but seems a bad choice. Both or neither is better.
- there are no decals for depth markings. Seems like a trend with FH
- lots of good detail but I cannot go through every sprue as they are damaged.. however, the turrets seem a bit too angular versus 3D printed ones I used and look more like Trumpeter ones.
- nice barrels and other things include
- hull bottom - XF75 (so same as Japanese ships grey) is suggested, OR - Red bottom. :) So up to the modeller.
- 2 bigger PE frets. Not a huge amount, that's nice.
- deck is nicely detailed, but mine is again, bent to hell.
- I havent yet found how the bridge looks, given Trumpeter had big errors there..
- speaking of instructions, unlike usual Flyhawk, these are page by page and seem much better than the usual fold out stuff. kudos for that..

All in all, I probably order the standard version (not deluxe) now - and reuse my Deluxe PE parts for it.

Oh, and I have a box of full of spares for Hood Flyhawk (except the hull)... :heh:

if anyone has any questions on the kit - happy to answer.

Looking through sprues, Id say this has to be most accurate Hood and a joy for 1/700 fans.

PS. IF ANYONE WANTS TO SEND ME THEIR LOWER HULL FROM FH HOOD (Who dont want it full hull) - Im a happy recipient and can pay a little bit for your troubles shipping it. :) Do reach out!

Id like to but this is bought via ebay form china and the seller took more than 60 days to ship (on purpose I suspect) in order to avoid getting feedback. This is ebay's policy - 60 day feedback but if later - not able to leave one. This is a scam basically.

Also it was poorly packaged so no post would be able to handle it ok.

So I think what I will do is just flag the seller here so no one makes a mistake buying from them. Otherwise ill buy it from another source again in non delux version which is tad cheaper. I just need the hull really.

Returning is impossible it will cost me more to ship it back. So net net there is zero point shipping an item back. Its like some US thing where people ship things back and forth for free without thought. IN rest of the world it doesnt really work so easily.

Mine's also on the way from China from "peaceful2018". Good prices and dependable seller. Who did you get yours from? I've never received a totalled package from China. A Longshoreman must have dropped a shipping container on it! :Mad_5:

Got mine today and in a word...GORGEOUS! :woo_hoo: :woo_hoo:

It's great to see that it's up to date with current information - on the lower hull colour and the corticene/semtex on the forward half of the shelter deck. The instruction booklet is nicely done with a letter from the HMS Hood Association and a thank you to those who contributed to making the kit what it is. Kudos to Flyhawk for their effort!

Nothing unreleased on the back cover of the booklet - they have Prince of Wales May '41, Bismarck, Scharnhorst '43 and Illustrious.
